For those who are concerned, IGN has opened a Revolution section with some exclusive tech details as their opening story.

http://revolution.ign.com/

Here's an interesting snippet from the article

When Revolution was initially unveiled, a Nintendo executive said it would be "two-to-three times more powerful than GameCube." The company never commented on Revolution's horsepower again and we were later told that the initial statement was incorrect. However, according to development houses, that description accurately sums up Revolution's power.

"To be honest, it's not much more powerful than an Xbox. It's like a souped up Xbox," a major third party source revealed to us. "But it's the controller that makes the difference and the controller is really nice."

Yet more praise from 3rd parties:

Asked if it was developing for Revolution, one major third party source said that it was well past the experimental stage and was evaluating what types of games might work on the platform. "We are looking at it quite differently. It's like another current generation platform for us. But it's such a nice controller that it opens up a lot of possibilities. It's very different and it's very precise."

All I can say is that it's about time. Now, all I want is for them to fill the page with information. :)

Just save enough info for the big unveiling @ E3 to leave me slack-jawed and .

Maybe Nintendo will finally do something right because they havent since SNES. I cant wait for this system, but I also said that when the GC was first talked about...

There's another article on that site that says a few companies that want to remain annonymous expect it to launch around Thanksgiving, which is similar with the GC release.

Even though Nintendo has said Revolution is only codename for their next system, I hope they stick with it.

*sigh*.. I was so hoping that it could be at least almost as powerful as 360..

Our hope must be placed in games. If the current handheld war can teach us anything, Nintendo ingenuity can overcome a trailing in power.

Eh, I was sort of so-so about the Gamecube's launch, and I'm a huge fan of the Big N. This one is different to me...I'm incredibly excited.

As long as they Launch with some good titles this round, unlike Gamcube.

The power of the system doesn't even bother me *that* much at all; while it would be nice to couple a great new system, innovation, and amazing power (along with all of Nintendo's key games), two out of three isn't bad. I hope that it gets enough support!

I just hope we can trust what Nintendo says. They also said that the Gamecube would have online support. What a lie thta was.

I can't wait to pre-order it, buy it at Midnight, then get in line at Target to buy one to ebay, all while making another movie. (http://www.youtube.com/index?v=ucFJ4XHiFFw)

I thought Nintendo consoles really didnt have a reputation for shortage problems that Sony/MS has and/or creates.

I thought Nintendo consoles really didnt have a reputation for shortage problems that Sony/MS has and/or creates.

I remember there being widespread shortages of N64s when they were launched.

Then again, the people who bought them acutally wanted to play with the machine or give them as gifts, as eBay wasn't really a market force at the time. With the 40K+ 360s on eBay, I wonder how bad the media would present the shortages if eBay didn't exist.

Hoping to see it out by next... we'll say September, I'd actually buy it at launch if that's the case.

Yeah, since Nintendo is probably going to make at least some money on every console sold, I doubt they're going to falsely restrict the flow of systems. Let the market have enough to meet the inital demand and then a steady flow thereafter. Nintendo wants people playing their games, not gouging each other on eBay.
