Just called my local Costco, and they told me that they were expecting Xbox 360 shipments to leave "the depot" (their main warehouse) on December 9th and arrive at all of the individual Costco stores 1-3 days later. Those of you with memberships might want to call your local store on Saturday.

I highly recommend everyone get one at costco. For one, there is hardly anyone trying to find them there; for the past week and hundreds of people looking for IPODs, I've only had a few people asking for xbox360's. Another good reason is that for whatever reason that you don't want it, if it breaks or whatever, just bring it back to costco within two years.

Funny thing is when the ps2 launched a while back I found a couple of them stacked at costco and hardly anyone was even looking at them.

Exactly. Almost no one thinks to go there for their video games. Most of the time, yes, they're/we're more than average price that most CAG's would pay, but if you're looking for systems that's the way to go.
In fact, I just helped someone return a ps2 that had DRE the other day. It was past it's 2 year mark by a couple days so I convinced the return people to accept it anyway.

Sounds interesting, is Costco a member-only place? If so, I might as well go there after class today to become a member.
Only reason I go to Costco is for the pizza and food now a days.

Costco membership is worth it though. If I needed a 360 It would just be a push to get me a membership. OTTER POPS!

Can you purchase without being a member?(Or is there a surcharge, like bjs 15%)

i think you would need to either sign up for a membership or a costco giftcard. i believe that would be the only way to get in without membership. also bring your debit card or american express as costco doesnt accept visa, mc and discover

Are you referring to the gift card or signing up? I have a debit card (checking account) but it's Visa.

well good news about costco b/c im sure the line at bestbuy will form a day in advance as big as launch. Also if you want smaller lines outside costco saying their shipments are unexpected, THEN STOP TALKING ABOUT IT!!!

That is only if you're looking around, you don't get to buy anything. Why they implemented that I'll never know but whatever.

At my Costco at launch they didn't get any, so I'm hoping that they'll get a shipment this time. My workplace has a business membership, and I'd be able to get in an hour earlier than those without a business membership. Here's hoping they get some in!

Thanks a lot for the tip evilmax. I called Costco last night and they told me that they had received 60 Xbox 360's and still had plenty left. So I made the 45 min drive, signed up as a member, and walked out with a 360 bundle.
The bundle contained the 360 w/the media remote, PGR3, an extra wireless controller and a play and charge kit for $474.99.
Considering that I was 13th in line at Wal-Mart on the 22nd at 12:01 am and 17th in line at CC the same day and walked away both times without a console this Costco info was appreciated evilmax.
Thanks again.

Goddamn my managers a douche, we didn't get any this shipment either, or if we did, they weren't put out. And as well, the knowledge that Costco got a shipment in is getting into normal information rounds. I had two seperate people ask me if we'd gotten the 360 in. Normally I'd chalk it up to mom's looking for their children, but it was an middle-older guy and a moderately young lady who asked. Maybe FW got a hold of the info somehow? Either that or there are some CAG's in my town who haven't come out yet.

After waiting all week, the Danvers, MA Costco finally got their shipment of 360's!
The warehouse opened at 930, I called to confirm they were in stock, and we got there at about 10. They were located right near the registers (only 2 pallets left when we got there). One of the three employees assigned to "guarding" the 360's had a pad of paper and wrote down my membership information. They were limiting it to one 360 purchase per membership, as they only received 72 bundles. We grabbed our bundle and also the cardboard box with the 360 logo on it (just the standup divider piece, the base was way too big). Just a little extra something. :)
Going through the registers, we saw people left and right with 360's. They were going fast, and I imagine they might be gone by now. A couple and assumably a daughter belonging to one of them came in line behind us with TWO 360's. They were arguing that they had two different memberships. Who's willing to bet that one of those is going on eBay?
Anyway, it was a relief to finally get one, and at a decent price. Good luck to everyone still looking!

I just came from the costco in Danvers and I picked one up. Your right they were going fast and the two people standing there guarding them took down my membership info, I was wondering why they did that then remembered that they limited the purchase to one per member.

You can use a credit card, as long as it's american express.

Well after driving around to Target, Compusa, Toysrus, CC, Best Buy this morning, none had in stock. Called Costco 3 miles away, not in stock. Came home and I heard people getting them at Costco in Houston so I decided to check the one in Fort Worth which is 20miles away and they FINALLY have it. They only received 15-20, not sure exact. When I got there, there were only 5 left but the lady in front of me got one so 4 left. Took me about an hour to get there (had to look for membership card at a different house & getting lost).
But anyways I have it now, glad I didn't have to buy it on ebay.

Today (12-10-2005) the willowbrook costco recieved 48, yes 48, of their bundles. for those who missed out on this deal do not give up hope. the katy freeway costco has yet to announce or aknowledge their shipment, but they "guaranteed" that they would have their shipment in before x-mas.
good luck and thanx to you guyz I currently have a 360 (not opening it 'til I'm through with finals) I hope this helps some of you fellow H-TOWN'ers/TEXANS.
good luck and again thanks.

Congrats,
good to see some non-preorder/every10minutes.com winners are starting to get systems.
