Damn you PayPal

I was paid for something through PayPal and they're taking around 3% in fees from it. I was surprised because the payment wasn't through a credit card, until I discovered I had long ago "upgraded" my account from a personal account (I don't use PayPal often).

I hate that I'm paying any fees, but that's really my fault. What I hate is that the fuckers at PayPal require you to contact them by e-mail and wait for their response to downgrade an account. Damn you PayPal/eBay.

ya intrest sucks. i was kinda forced into upgrading as someone paid me in credit card, and the only way to accept it was to upgrade my account.

Happened to me too. All for ONE payment through credit card. Where they ask you to explain why you want to downgrade, I wrote a long ass complaint about it...Now I just state in my auctions "no credit card Paypal payments".

Just create another account that accecpts credit cards. Then you will have an account for both.

I'm pretty sure paypal takes a cut from any transaction no matter what, regardless of the type of transaction.

That's why, if people choose to pay me through paypal, I tell them I will charge them a 3% paypal fee to try and persuade them to send a check or other for of currency that doesn't require I take a cut.

If I remember right ebay which owns paypal made all ebay sellers upgrade to a premier account which is the only way to get credit cards payments though paypal. I to this day do not understand how ebay is still around.

I need to create another account. To get more than a certain amount in a payment, you need a premier account and the fees are starting to add up.
