Enter the matrix wasnt as completely shitty as it was said to be, BUT with the amount of time and money they had to make you start to wonder how many circle jerks they did in-between making the sentinel shooting level where you literaly leave the crosshairs in the middle of the screen and hold down the button to win.

Mario vs Donkey is mine next week at Target!
PGR2 for $20 after GGC, I might pick this up.
Was this one on sale for $20 somewhere a few weeks ago? I remember going to Best Buy with somebody's ad to PM this a while back, but they were OOS. Can't remember who's ad or the price it was at in the ad. (Might have been at $25 at CC or something?)

Wow.. These sales are HOT imo.. Game Shark for the xbox.. Is that any good? Although it is just game saves.. Anything close to invincibility or $5^& like that?
How about Splinter Cell PT? Is that worth 35? I disliked the original.. But its a good price and it comes with free xbl..
Or Super Mario Adv 3?
Im also thinking of getting SCII for gcn or xbox.

Any of you guys have SCII for both GCN and Xbox? If so, any opinion on which version to get? I'm partial to the Xbox controller (at least in this instance), but can adapt for the GC controls if it's clearly the better version. Gamerankings.com has both version ranked virtually neck and neck, so I'm just looking to know what you guys think.
Also, anyone know what's the story with the LotR trilogy set? Does this set have the final, complete, extended footage version of all three movies? I do not want to buy this, then find out at Christmas that some newer, more complete, version is going to be released.

The triliogy set that is coming out tues includes the 3 theatrical versions of the films. The return of the King extended edition will come out around november, so if you want a box set of all 3 extended editions, wait then. Although I'm not quite sure if they're releasing a box set of the EEs, but even if they don't, you can buy all 3 EEs seperately.

Depends on who you would rather play as, Link or Spawn, if you only like Link marginally better I would get the XBox version as the graphics are a little bit better and the controller is more suited for fighting games. But if you're like me and like the thought of playing as Link a whole lot then get the GC version.

I have it for all consoles personally. GCN and XBox both support progressive scan (HD) output at 480p, but Xbox is the only one to support 720p (even though they shrunk the screen to fit it, it looks amazing). Not only does PS2 not support progressive scan on this game, there is most definitely lag at times in gameplay. This is most notable when playing a chara such as Ivy with her sword/whip animations. This should go without saying, but in order to view progressive scan output, you need component video cables and an HDTV or HD-ready TV.
I used to play Heihachi a lot in Tekken 3 tournies so I wanted to see how he was in Soul Calibur II. Link is Link so I had to get that version and Spawn was just damn cool too, even though he's limited to using an axe in the game. =) If you're a tourney-goer, then you'll know that console-exclusive charas, including Necrid, are banned from tourney play.
Best controls start with the PS2 controller, then the Xbox, and lastly the GCN controller hands-down IMHO. Don't let that be a determining factor so much in which version you get as you can easily get a controller converter for Xbox/GCN --> PS2 for around $9.99-$14.99 now anyways. Oh, and another note on the progressive scan capabilities on the Xbox and GCN versions. This should go without saying, but you need component video cables to take advantage of this. HD-pack from Xbox (you can upgrade your cables, btw) and you have to specifically buy the GCN component video cables from Nintendo directly. By far worth it in the end when you consider that most of their AAA titles support progressive scan. =)

As for the LotR trilogy, I think I'm going to hold off for a few more months. I have a feeling they're going to end up releasing some super-ultimate, director's cut, extended edition box set (with bonus Gollum nude scene!) later this year, just so everyone has to shell out another $60.

HD-pack from Xbox (you can upgrade your cables, btw) and you have to specifically buy the GCN component video cables from Nintendo directly. By far worth it in the end when you consider that most of their AAA titles support progressive scan. =)

All three versions of SC2 support progressive scan.
True. I've played all versions, used to have the PS2 version, and now currently own the GCN version. Just to break it down simply by category for anyone else who still cares:
Compared by features:
PS2 version has 480p, noticeable load times, and Heihachi.
GameCube version has 480p, no load pause, and LINK.
Xbox version has 480p, 720p (4:3 ratio only, has vertical black borders), no load pause, and Spawn.
Compared by display:
At 480i (standard mode): All versions look near identical, but the PS2 version is a little jaggier than the other two. Framerate dips, too. While playing and watching, I haven't seen differences in framerate between the GameCube and Xbox versions.
At 480p (standard progressive mode, component cables required): Same thing, almost completely comparable. At this resolution, you'd have to compare side by side. PS2 is still the somewhat jaggiest, with the slowest framerate. GCN and Xbox versions are still identical.
At 720p (Xbox only, component cables required): Very impressive, although the game won't fill the screen to the left and right on a widescreen - there will be borders. If you have a 720p-capable widescreen TV and don't mind Spawn, you should probably consider this version. But if you have a 4:3 aspect ratio HD-ready TV, in most cases the picture won't just have borders on the sides, it'll have a big border around the entire screen, and the picture will be very small, except for the cutscenes, which will fill a widescreen or be letterboxed on a 4:3 TV. Only get it for 720p if you have a widescreen (16:10) or 4:3 HD-ready TV with a zoom feature. Don't get it for 720p if you have a TV that can't do 720p, or a 4:3 TV that can do it but doesn't have zoom.
Summary: I'd say buy the GameCube version because it has most of the features of the Xbox version, plus Link. If you have a capable widescreen or 4:3 zoom HD-ready TV, you might also buy the Xbox version for the higher resolution, but not at the expense of also buying the GameCube version. I can't recommend the PS2 version of Soul Calibur 2 if you have a GameCube or Xbox or both, although it's not bad at all if you only have a PS2. And for any version, get a joystick.

I am definately taking advantage of the manhunt sale. I already have manhunt because I bought it at Circuitcity at full price. But CC has a policy that if you buy something and see the same thing cheaper at another store, they will refund you 110% of the difference. So I am definately doing that and I am going to pick up ROTK with the refund.

You left out the audio. I got both the xbox and gcn versions and the xbox sounds way better alot more seperation and a more distinct sound. The library level has a rich echo and the rear speakers are actually put to good use and this is a fighting game. The gcn version has alot of compression on the audio to fit both english nad japanese on a 1.5gig disc. The xbox has more of a kick in the low end while it seems missing in the gcn version. Btw you can stick 9 gigs on the xbox dvd-9 discs.

Anyone have luck finding Mario vs Donkey Kong (GBA) at Target? I just went to my local Target and they don't have Mario vs Donkey Kong or Sonic 3 for GBA. I thought the ad said they are on sale!

I took advantage of the manhunt deal by using Circuit Citys price match guarantee thing. Got like $15.40 back and bought ROTK for like $.64!
