How often would you say you floss your teeth, on average?

Rarely, if ever. I know I should though.

Never, and I've never had a dental problem. The only thing I need is my back two wisdom teeth pulled and that has nothing to do with flossing. If I have something stuck in my tooth I use a toothpick.

I used to floss daily. Now, I floss when needed. If my teeth feel like something is in them, or I can see gunk, I floss them.

I do every day after having four cavities a couple of months ago, the dentist said it was due to not flossing.

I've gotta floss daily - it's how I maintain my pearly whites. Plus, I hate the sensation when some stupid food particle in between my teeth.:bomb: You never know when you might meet a cute girl and there's crap in your teeth.

hardly never, too hard to floss with braces :cry:your gonna regret not flossing with braces, food gets stuck really easily in between the gaps and its harder for you to notice stuff with them,
there are these tools that you can use called floss threaders, they're tedious at first to use, but you get used to them,
I used them when I had braces and they helped a lot, my dentist gave them out for free

I haven't flossed in at least a year (last dentist visit) and I have never had a problem with my teeth. I'm just too lazy.

As soon as I get something stuck in my teeth, i have to floss it out. it's serious-- i've been known to tear the stiching out of a shirt just because I had to floss something out right then and there
but i don't regularly floss all my teeth. it feels too weird and tingly afterwards.

I never used to floss until maybe 2 years ago. I flossed somewhat for a while (every few days, once a month etc. very random) then I started making a real effort to do it every day (though often skipped some days). Then I got a cavity a few months ago. I had never had to have any work done on my teeth other than braces, so since then I floss everday, usually brush my teeth 3 or 4 times a day (instead of just 2), and use mouthwash 3 or so times a day (used to do twice, though sometimes skipped night).
I stopped using just the string floss a few months ago and started buying the floss on a stick. I can't get the floss into the back half of my mouth when I wrap it around my fingers, so it wasn't doing much good except in front.

The Reach Flosser thing (floss at the end of a toothbrush type apparatus) kicks ass, you can floss in like 10 seconds and it makes it really easy to get to the back teeth. I also use a Water Pik from time to time, it really cleans your teeth but it makes a pretty big mess.

First off I enjoy how the add I saw at the bottom of this thread was for "do you want whiter teeth?". lol
However, it seems like most people here don't realize that flossing isn't supposed to be done for the sole purpose of getting food out from between your teeth. That's a side effect, sure, but it's *not* the intended purpose.
The purpose of flossing is to pull the floss down between your tooth and gums on each side, to get rid of bacteria that would get stuck in there, and to keep your gums healthy. Regular brushing (and not eating so much sugary/starchy foods) will keep most food out of your teeth. Hell, eat a few carrots at the end of a meal and your teeth'll be nearly spotless. Or celery. Or any other decent fruit or vegetable.
Wow, sorry for the rant.

Every day....for the week after I visit the dentist.
The dentist says my teeth are actually looking better each time, which is good. She did suggest I get some anti-plaque, ACT-type stuff to rinse with, especially for the back teeth which don't get as much brushing as some of the others.

I floss every night before I go to sleep. I've been doing this for years since my dentist told me I have gum disease. Cost me about $2000 2 years ago and about another $1000 last year to fix the gum disease.

Never do though.

I hate when corn gets in my teeth. Drives me insane trying to get that little thing out.:hot:
I try to floss daily, but truthfully I probably floss about every other day on average.
