Hey, should there be a CAG Clan?

With so many gamers, is there a CAG Clan. We could call the clan The CAGer's as ine"Cage-ers." We could have the clan cover multiple games. With specialists on each game within the clan. And rank would be based on both play and contirbution level on CAG.

Anyway, what do you think? We could probably have a huge presence on online consoles and maybe build up a rep online. Also, it would help Cheapy D get free advertising.

That's not the same thing, he means a CAG clan for online games, not a group on CAG.

Well, if there is actually a clan it would be nice to have a "Clan Forum" added. But other than that I am talking mostly about for online gaming and stuff. But you couldn't really have a "CAG clan" I guess unless you had CheapyD's blessing.

There's nothing to stop a bunch of CAG members from forming their own clan and caling it whatever they like. But having a CAG clan might be good, not only for the community, but for the site itself. Will help promote it, as well as get the community playting together more.

uh. no, bad idea. as clans in general is a bad idea. i believe it has a greater impact when its 1 person thats bad ass in 1 certain game, who is representing a specific group. even thou this will never get started, if it does it maybe the fall of cag. :)

I like the idea...I don't see how it would be the downfall of CAG it's just a videogame. If you get kicked in one game just play another, or play til you get better. My only proble, with the idea is people would get split up more by what systems or computers they own, rather than the games they enjoy. For instance I can play on Xbox Live, but not on PS2.

Well, see that's the thing. I haven't thought of the logistics. Should we focus on one game. Or be basically a "Serverless Clan." We have clan members, but they meet up on CAG, and they play multiple games. Maybe with certain CAG members focusing on specific games to specialize in if they want. And if someone wanted they could volunteer a server for the game they're focusing on. Or something like that.

It's just an idea. Just popped in my head a few minutes ago.

I think it's a great idea, that's pretty cool that you could make clans inside of CAG and i think it'd be a clever idea

and you should make different kinds that spread out into branches, like we are all part of the initial plan and get important news, but then there's an online RPG forum for all those people, 1st-3rd person shooters, survival horror, basic platforming, etc etc. cover every subject and you would get to choose either the one you want to be in or be diverse - which means every subject so you'd have a forum all your own covering everything important but for details you'd need to check out the forum you're looking for information at. think it's a good idea people?

when i say downfall im mostly referring to those a$$hole online players.. which will in turn attract a$$hold CAG'ers, and soon enough this fourm will turn into GameFAQs...... i actually like having witty conversations on this fourm... not like, "XBOX owns!!! i pwned you1!1!11!!!!! gamecube is fer dum azz gurlSs!!@1!!1!1!" all through out our beautiful forums... catch my drift? big nick's suggestions is pretty good thou, something part time. where we can play together.

I like that idea much better...getting a clan together would be too much hassle and, for all we know, could possibly have some very negative reprecussions for the site. For all we know, rimsforsale might be completely right.

Don't hthey already have that though? Like, a thread for x-box gamer names?

But I guess an online forum could havve more impact. For example, It might have a CS thread so people can post their CS names and what they're playing and when. Also, people could hook up to play. Schedule matches, stuff like that.And we could still have groups represent CAG, but not in an official manner. Like, a bunch of TFC players who always play together and use the online forum to organize their meet-ups and stuff.

In a way it would be an informal I guess. Except instead of rankings and stuff, and all those clan formalities, it would be an informal way for players to hook up with other players. Then, when people are interested in how they got to playing together, they can poing out CAG.

i think its a good idea to have a cag clan. i like bignick's idea too, a full fledged clan might b too much. just basically for people from here to get together and play games together. also i think if this plan does go live, v should keep the recruiting to zero. recruiting other players who don't necessarily bilieve in what CAG stands for is a waste and will cause this like someone else pointed out to turn into a gamefaqs, etc.

Actually, your plan is more how I envision it, and probably falls a lot in what Big Nick is thinking...

It wouldn't be feasable to have a forum for every tytpe of game. But you could have the Online Forum. And with Threads for certain games. like the CS thread and the FFXI Thread. Then, if certain threads get a lot of hits, say 50 CAGers post their game name, then maybe it becomes a sticky.

Then, also, people could identify other CAG members by putting CAG in their name or something.

Maybe a clan is a bad way to describe it. I'm just saying a community effort for CAG online. With fellow CAG members proudly marking that they're CAG Members. Playing online and stuff. Also, we copuld develop CAG teams to play in competitions and stuff. But I';m not saying we create a "formal" clan. That would have some negatives. For example, think of how exclusivity would affect the forum. The Clan Cagers vs. the non Clan CAGers. That wouldn't be good.

I'm just saying, that if a person who's a member, and anyone can join, posts their game tag on the Online forum, they could put a CAG symbol by their name. To identify themselves as a member and supporter of CAG. And other gamers would go, "Oh, hey, there's Admiral Ackbar. I didn't know he played FA" And if someone online goes, "What the hell does CAG mean? Is that a clan?" You just answer, "No, that's the gaming site where we hook up to play together and findd cheap ass gaming deals." And maybe, if there are say, five really excellent CS players on CAg, maybe they want to hook up more often and play together. And on occasion represent CAG informally in matches and stuff. But I only think this would fly if a forum was made and Cheapy D gave his blessing.

It's been pointed out that members might be woried that the quality of the site might slide. But the more members that join, the tone of the site will change anyway. You can't control someone being a jerk. There will always be problems. All I'm saying is that this would be another means to get CAG members to play together and spread the awareness of CAG. Also, if CAG members have servers available, and they want to make them available to other CAG members out of the kindess of their heart. Like for example, Defenders CS server, then that would be nice too. And they could post info there.

Also, if you think this is a good idea, I'd like to propose a rule for the thread. A, No taunting rule. Like, if you beat a fellow cager, and post it, that's fine. Anmd we could even follow how other CAG members fare against each other in different games. But If threads become flames or somebody posts a thread to say something like "Ad. Ackbar sucks ass. I owned his ass in FA. He's a loser. Why the hell do you let him post here. FA rulez." That stuff shouldn't be allowed. A little friendly competition is fine but nothing out of line. Thats what the moderator for that thread would look out for.

I already made myself part of the clan back when I played the halo demo. It was a CAG server and I was part of the CAG clan. Send me an IM if you ever want to play.

It's a good idea, but the only real games CAG clan could play are tribes and Enemy territory, as they are both free, hence cheap.
