National City's CC is at 40%. Picked up Fallout 3 Lunchbox Edition (360) for 39.xx after tax. The game selection there was decent as of Friday afternoon.

Oh, and the National City CC is closing March 21. So I'm guessing it'll hit 50% sometime in the next couple weeks.

Nah, I haven't seen it. I'm not really looking for it, but I would've noticed if it was on sale anywhere. I've been bouncing around the city fooling with my new semi-indestructible camera, so I can tell you I haven't seen it in Horton Plaza, the Mission Valley mall, Plaza Bonita, Coronado, Eastlake, or in the ocean.

I don't think you can return the one from the CE in place of the regular edition, though. I'm pretty sure the boxarts for each are different. Though I guess you could just swap them...

Best Buy gots tons of each CE version. I picked one up at around 11 and they still had probably 20-30 copies of each.

I don't think i bashed the SEs... yet...

I believe if you were to feel Sanwa buttons after playing on stock buttons, they'd feel just lighter or slightly easier to input. That's really the main difference between Sanwa and most other stock parts. I should know, when I tried going back to default Hori buttons, I was having trouble getting buttons to register because I wasn't pressing them hard enough.

If you can find it, get a fighting stick 3 (ps3) or ex2(360). Though if you're a big guy that likes to play with the stick on your lap, it might be a problem. They aren't exactly big, but they do get the job done.

Or you can wait for more impressions on the SE, though I find $70 too much, especially for a mod.

I can deal with the sizes as I would just play off of my coffee table. The biggest concern is being able to find the fighting sticks. Prices seemed to have gone up along with scarcity.

Not sure about acrylic, but you should consider Norris Arcade sticks. They are sexy. Once I get mine done, I'll post pics of it. They are quality and all you need is a paint, pcb, and buttons/sticks. Art if you need as well. I definitely suck at woodwork, so this is an ideal solution for me.

As for electronic components if you need 'em, I always recommend willy's electronic supply (http://shop.willyselectronics.com/). I know of two of their SD stores, never found the third new one. But they have QDs (.110" female), soldering equip, etc. Their QDs were the cheapest I could find locally and online for that matter. Never buy from Radio Shack, they sell in small quantities and overprice.

I don't know too much about stick building, but if you're looking for a thin sheet of acrylic, places like Lowe's and Home Depot have them. Would something like a 12" x 12" sheet 1/8" thick work for your project? Those go for like 3 or 4 bucks at Lowe's. There's plenty of other sizes and the staff there will cut them if you need them to.

It was interesting going home that day. I already knew about the money being thrown out. But the cops must've had a fun time. Best Buy in Mission Valley has a large rack of 50% off games. Animal Crossing with microphone was probably the newest, but I also saw lots of Fallout 3 CE for PS3 and 360, Soul Caliber IV CE on both systems, End War for PS3 with headset, a ton of Madden CE for both systems and Resistance 2 CE for PS3, as well as some filler Wii and DS games.

Make sure if the games you buy have a sticker on them you get them for $10. I had to argue for 15 minutes at the best buy in San Marcos because I bought my games ahead of time (which were all stickered) and they wouldn't honor the price match on Singit becuase it wasn't in their system. I pointed out that they were completely out of stock of that particular game and must have been sold for $10 that day as I doubt everyone had a sudden urge to singit on that sunday and pay full price. They eventually caved, but I wasn't backing down!

Well, if you want to know the whole story first of all its a 75 dollar profit. Second, it's not going to myself btw. I already have a TE stick lying around. I bought one about 2 weeks ago. And GameStop decided to give me a call after waiting 4-5 months; calling about 50 stores every other day and held one for me to buy for myself. Luckily I found one before they were able to call me. Third, where is the money going? Not in my pockets. I'm setting up a tournament with a buy-in hoping that 75 dollar profit extra would provide leeway to bring in some good people to play with locally for street fighter. I'm not rich enough to provide the cost for people who want to win some money split three ways amongst a winner and two runner ups. Sorry for posting on the Cheap Ass Gamer forum. I'll post somewhere else, I was just trying to help raise funds for this shindig. Anyways I won't be posting ads here for the TE stick anymore.


on the other hand, well another note. If anyone would like to participate in this tournament, hopefully I can set this up soon it would most likely be held in Poway around the 23rd of May after finals and such are over. Please leave me a message or email me with your name so I can put you up on the roster. Plus I need a decent buy-in reccommendation to what people are willing to put in. the irony of it is.... this place is for people who aren't willing to pay for MSRP for games, thats why i CAPS the wors CAG, people are willing to wait it out and pay $10 for mirrors edge, $15 for bioshock, ect.

sure ur tourney idea sounds good, but ure ripping off people who really want the stick. u said u have a "te stick laying around" u said it urself u dont have that much money, either do the rest of us. SF4 is hot as shit right now, u dont need an extra $75 to get people to come. SRK members host weekly tournies with 25+ people showing up every week and the buy in is only $5

if i come off as a jerk its because i want to be because ive been looking for a TE stick for so long and the people who dont even need one are buying one just to make an extra profit for whatever reason.
gamestop always manages to just "sell that last one earlier" or amazon always sells out within 5 minutes while im at work.

Well, if you want to know the whole story first of all its a 75 dollar profit. Second, it's not going to myself btw. I already have a TE stick lying around. I bought one about 2 weeks ago. And GameStop decided to give me a call after waiting 4-5 months; calling about 50 stores every other day and held one for me to buy for myself. Luckily I found one before they were able to call me. Third, where is the money going? Not in my pockets. I'm setting up a tournament with a buy-in hoping that 75 dollar profit extra would provide leeway to bring in some good people to play with locally for street fighter. I'm not rich enough to provide the cost for people who want to win some money split three ways amongst a winner and two runner ups. Sorry for posting on the Cheap Ass Gamer forum. on the other hand, well another note. If anyone would like to participate in this tournament, hopefully I can set this up soon it would most likely be held in Poway around the 23rd of May after finals and such are over. Eastlake (near Home Depot, and sort of across the street from the OR shopping center). this is for the 360 format. forgive me, but i don't recall if they had more of the "regular" version -- i wasn't looking when the guy grabbed it from the glass case. they definitely had at least one of the special DVD version, but i didn't want to bother trying to get it, as they might balk at the ad showing a different cover. well, that and i don't want or need the DVD.

they were talking amongst themselves in the video dept, about how they should all expect more people to be bringing in the ad and how to do the price adjust properly, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to them if you come in sometime soon. also, i did get them to PM SH:HC even though it wasn't in the ad, but it was a hard-fought battle: i had brought in a print out of the 9.99 price from BB's website and spoke to two clerks and two managers before finally they agreed to call BB and confirm the 9.99 price in-store. considering they tried to reject my PM attempts on that one more than once, you might have trouble getting them to authorize any PMs that aren't specifically shown in the ad. just a heads-up.

oh, and if anyone finds PS3 SCIV at Wal Mart, let me know. that's the last game i'd like to own from this deal (though everything after SH:HC is just icing on the cake).

as long as you have an ad in hand, you can absolutely get those three games from Wal Mart with no problem. in case my earlier post turned you off to the idea, i should clarify that the only reason i ran into opposition is that i was trying to PM Silent Hill: Homecoming even though it wasn't pictured in the ad. the clerk even told me (as we were waiting for a manager to come) that if it weren't for that one game, they would've PM'd the others without batting an eye.

if you're just PM'ing games that are clearly pictured in the BB ad (and they're for the pictured format, PS3 or 360) which it sounds like you are, you shouldn't have any problems.

i stopped by the walmart in poway on my way home from work. I had the best buy ad and figured, what the hell. In the case was 2 Pures. I ask the lady to open it. She goes: "I see you have the Best Buy ad with you. Will you be pricematching today?" to which I reply yes. She tells me the store has been filled with PMers and there's no problem.

in short, went off without a hitch. and i got my Pure :) and not just any pure, the one with teh Walmart extras!!! :-D (which I haven't opened, so I can't describe yet :P)

Got Saints Row 2 Collectors Edition yesterday for $25 at Mission Valley Best Buy. Thanks to outphase for posting the deal.

They also had Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm at $30, which I picked up as well. Probably the cheapest I could find B&M right now. All the Target copies are gone anyway, and SD Target clearance is pretty crap.

I didn't see anything else that would be of value to anyone, I believe I saw one copy of Bleach Dark Souls for DS, didn't check the price though.

(2) the target in mission valley has 3 copies of mirror's edge for 360 left. I didn't get any as I already have 1 for myself and another for trade, but they're 9.99 for anyone that's interested.
