i used to work at TRU in NC for 5 years. i loved that job, and it paid really well (though i got promoted twice).

TRU always seemed like a nice place to work. Riceboi, it seems thats you have some experience which leads to more leverage in your job hunting.

Was at the GTM general store in Santee yesterday and saw a few 360 wireless controllers. They seemed to be returns (maybe defective) since they were opened, look a bit used, and just sitting in a pile in the corner. I also saw a few that were still in a retail packaging. Price turned out to be $32 but they have a coupon for 25% off any single item that's good until tomorrow. They also had the wireless receiver for $12 in retail packaging.

They also have a small selection of video games. I noticed Excite Truck for $38, 360 Arcade Unplugged (on sale for $7.50), FF3 for the DS for $28, among other games.

I am starting to get absolutely pumped for Comic-Con now. Since I've got family on the Board of Directors, I always get a 4 Day Pass of some sort for free, but working this summer may only allow me to go Preview Night, Friday, and Sunday. If I am lucky I will be able to get Saturday off and go that day as well. I only took a quick glance at the schedule, but Friday seems is the day that interests me the most as far as programs go.

Mostly interested in:
10:30-12:00 Warner Bros.
12:15-2:00 Twentieth Century Fox
1:30-2:30 24 (I highly doubt it would happen, but I would fucking crap my pants if Kiefer showed up)

Comic-Con International (Comic-Con), the nation's largest comic book and pop culture event announced today that they have sold out of Four-Day memberships.

Comic-Con offers a variety of ways to attend the popular four-day event. From single day admissions to multi-day packages. However, for the first time, Four-Day memberships have sold out.

"We've taken measures to ensure that while Comic-Con may be very busy, we won't be so crowded that we exceed capacity," said David Glanzer, spokesperson for the non-profit event.

He was quick to point out that people can still register to attend for single days or take advantage of the special Three-Day membership that includes preview night.

"Selling out single days, most likely Friday and Saturday, is a definite possibility," continued Glanzer, "we're urging people to visit our website and register online now to avoid any unpleasant surprises at the door." Comic-Con saw attendance top 123,000 at their 2007 event.

SeaWorld...jk :lol: Well, if you're looking for a full time job I supposed Sea World is pretty cool for people over 18 because you have a lot more opportunities there than if you were under 18. They are currently hiring people for photographers (full time I believe) that go around the park to take pictures, and the pay is pretty decent too, which is $10.25 to take pictures. I'm just mad you have to be 18+ to work that job which I suppose isn't even all that hard.

Dude...I just had one of the biggest fucking plates of Carne Asada fries ever!! I got them off this one place off of Midway (in the same center as the old EBgames, now Gamestop). It's called Bahia or something, its located in the food court across from EB/Gamestop. It's $5.75 after tax and man are the CA fries delicious!! I couldn't even finish all of it, I had to get my left-overs for to-go! Check them out if you're ever in that area, trust me you'll thank me later lol.

the reason they have so many unique items is because the guy that owns/runs the place charges both arms and legs for anything. when you want a price on pretty much anything "retro", he whips out his giant Ebay-esque price guide (i've seen pawn shops with this same guide) and quotes you some barf-price. i once tried to buy some Turbo Grafx stuff from him which was fine, until he realised that he didn't have prices on anything yet, at which point he told me, "oh yeah, i bought this stuff for myself, it's not for sale, i forgot." okayyy....

so anyway, that's all. i'll never go there again. to top things off, the guys who work/hang out there (hard to tell which they are) are those wretched snobby nerd types that you just want to choke clean out on sight.

I got RE4 for now, and that game is 10x more scary than the GC version I played 2 years ago. Something about the motion control makes it a lot more scary lol.

well the officials have probably been slacking on establishing a good preventative and effective method to contain wild fires even after the cedar fires.
But again these fires are huge and with extremely high winds.
Its hard to built back fires and ditches quick enough or effective enough because of the shear size of the fire perimeter and the speed of it.
And theres no plane or vehicle big enough to drop any effective amount of the special fire chemical liquid to contain the fire.

Basically when you have a fire this huge... no one can really do crap about it until it burns itself out.

Theres a updated PDF of a map that shows where the fire perimeter and evacuation areas are.
Its a good thing to look at it to see where you stand.
I'm not sure the exact wind flow direction is ... but if you know that then it'll help you figure out if it might hit your area.

I don't know how long it'll burn but since its 0-5% contained and it looks like the wind wont give up .. it might go pretty far.

Anyways hope everyones safe.... but best thing to do is look at the map and find out exactly what your situation is.

okay, i went to the National City TRU and reserved Super Mario Galaxy. free coin and $25 gift card, here i come. the girl claimed it was the last reserve, which i believe since i couldn't find anymore hanging up in the usual spot. i also happened to notice Tony Hawk's Proving Ground for 360, priced at $39.99. not too shabby -- i was dreading paying full price for this, as it's a gift for my nephew.

Black Friday hasn't really been good for a couple years... This year is no different. So yea, San Diego TRUs were screwed from shipping with DHL shipping.

I went to TRU in National City around 4:30 PM and they were clueless so I called up Morena TRU and they said I can go there and preorder it still.... So I did that. While in a 20-25 personish line around 5 PM the workers told everyone that the shipment was not coming in tonight and that they will have it tomorrow. They let people preorder and still get the coin and $25 gift card guaranteed when we pick up the game. They were getting in 141 games and had 160 coins, so yea they were straight on those.

If anyone wants the coin+GC I suggest going to TRU early in the morning and preordering.

I would be so mad if I didn't already play through Super Mario Galaxy last weekend! lololol...

Thanks for the heads up. I went earlier today after TRU didn't have it yet. They (CV) apparently got their shipment in late last night and immediately sold out of it. Damn you DHL! Frustrated, I got my deposit refunded and got a copy of the ad. I immediately headed off to BB and got the price adjustment with no hassle. Well, the cashier did call the manager, who already knew about the deal and it went through. Don't care about the GC or the coin. At least not anymore.

I did manage to pick up Dead Rising for $20 over at TRU (CV). I bought one of the last two copies (so 1 left). They don't have the display boxes on the floor anymore, but you can just head to the register and see it on the back wall.

i got rejected at the Mission Valley BB. they said "no its a fake email" at the CSR.
then i went to a register to try it and one guy says no we dont doit, then i said my friend did it earlier and they said well we got an email saying not to doit.

That is the hotness. The only thing that would make it perfect would be BC. Even half-assed software BC like on the 80GB or even the 360 would have been great. Everyone makes the claim that since nearly everyone and their mama has a PS2, there is no need to include BC in the PS3. Wrong. My PS2 conked out on me a year ago and I haven't finished DQVIII or FFXII yet. Well, BC and clear buttons (w/white background) on the controller. Those black ones stick out like a sore thumb. I guess the real problem for them lies in what to do with the thumbsticks.

well i wasn't originally planning to do much on black friday as my buying was supposed to be done saturday but ended up doing so anyway, plans just came up on saturday and wouldn't be able to pick up what I originally wanted, the 42 inch sharp aquos. Went with a 42 inch panasonic plasma instead priced at $899. Picked up a wall mount which was discounted an extra 10% and call of duty 4, though not on sale the guy on the register gave 10% off anyway 8-)

We went to MCRD as we saw that miramar was packed, arrived around 4:30am there was line but not as crazy with tents and crap like best buy, CC or frys. Tickets were handed out for stuff so a lot of ppl just waited at their cars until store opening and the line wasn't that bad since electronics department his separated from the main store. store opened at 6am their doorbuster of sorts was a bunch of wii consoles for sale, I think the limit was set at 2 per person as i saw at least 10 people holding 2 Wiis. By 6:30am wiis were sold out. Probably around 9:30am we had the tv packed in the car and headed home to get some well deserved rest.

Fry's had some great TV deals. I still don't regret my 40" 120hz 1080p Samsung LCD for $1699.99 + tax though. I did go to fry's around 12 and the checkout line zigzagged through the whole store. At least 2 hours to check out. So I left.. didnt' want to deal with all that bullshit just to save $100. There were still a lot of TV's though.. so I don't think it was necessary to camp out this year. I heard over at SD that someone was told from a Fry's manager that they had 100+ of all the big sale items.. don't know if that was true or not.

It's true! 5 hours for CHECKOUT only... insane... The line wrapped around like crazy.

We started where the fridge/blenders were and snaked through each aisle going towards the entrance/computer area, then snaked around again towards where the TVs/camcorders were and then snaked through the misc stuff/DVD area aisles, and finally snaked one last time around the PC games area until reaching the registers.

It's true! 5 hours for CHECKOUT only... insane... The line wrapped around like crazy.

We started where the fridge/blenders were and snaked through each aisle going towards the entrance/computer area, then snaked around again towards where the TVs/camcorders were and then snaked through the misc stuff/DVD area aisles, and finally snaked one last time around the PC games area until reaching the registers.

That is truly amazing. I didn't think it could ever get that bad...even with 65 registers open. That's crazy.

on a side note, i've been trying all day to snag that stupid Halo 3 Legendary Ed... no luck! people keep saying it's in-stock five minutes before i check, and i miss it every time! i've got about 20 minutes for it to magically come back.

I actually snagged it when it first went live. I was tempted by the BF $80 price, but at $60, it was a steal.

I'm a long time customer at Luna Games... Treg owns the shop and is a good guy... the prices on the used games varies but he generally can throw in a good deal if you talk to him bout it... I don't go there for current/recent gen games though... But if you're into the classics he got those. :)
