Candy store at malls usually have these. I don't know any mainstream store of the top of my head that sells them.
I checked Sweet Factory with no luck ><

It's like chocolate covered raisins the chewiness complements the softness of the chocolate. It works nicely for me and apparently others.
I thought I was the only psycho.

i remember goin to the movies as a kid and they used to have the ripoff candy by the bound and I would mix, gummibears, sourpatch kids, and reeses pieces. I would eat them mixed together, now thats a candy they should make.

Get two bars of chocolate, unwrap them and place them in a glass bowl, put the glass bowl on top of a pan with some water in it, the bowl has to fit snug into the top of the pan. Put it on the stove, get the water boiling and once the chocolate melts drop in some gummi bears, take 'em out and put them on wire rack to cool.
Boom, choco gummi bears in 20 mintues.

I believe you arent really supposed to use that type of chocolate for melting, but a cooking chocolate instead
Jimmie works in a kitchen, so I'll take his word for it. Additionally, cooking chocolate does come in bars and he didn't specify a type either way.

Baking chocolate (I think you're thinking of) isn't sweetened, and tastes like ass by itself. It's good for recipes, so you can control the amount of sugar in whatever you're making. But for chocolate-covered anything, a Hershey bar will do just fine.
Edit: You should just tell your GF to put a couple of gummy bears in her mouth, and then take a bite of chocolate, then chew. It's like drinking regular milk and squirting chocolate syrup into your mouth, then swishing it around. I'm all class baby.

I've used chocolate bars (like Hershey Bars and the like) to make melted chocolate for stuff like the OP is trying to do.
The method Jimmie recommended works perfectly.
Im just not sure that I have a wire rack with fine enough grating to support gummy bears... hmmm...

You don't really NEED the wire rack. It's just for you and your girl. This aint a cooking contest.
lol, I was just gonna use some wax paper, but I was trying to follow cooks orders!

Wax paper will work fine. Now, get crackin' and take some pics too.

Not to sound queer or nothing, but sometimes Bed Bath & Beyond sells weird candy items like that. You may want to check there if you have one in your area.
Haha, we had actually looked at the local Linens 'N Things (very very similar to BB&B) and didn't find anything. I don't mind trying to make them though, JM has inspired confidence that even I can't fuck up something so simple as these. It'll be kinda fun.

They have these at pier 39 at chocolate heaven or something. Chocolate gummies are Yummy! I wouldn't buy too much otherwise you can get sick real quick from them.
