View Full Version : Free Copy of Madden 2006 for 360!
EDIT: We have a winner!
Congratulations to Logain8955 for his heartfelt, sincere, and (most importantly) winning entry! All of the entries were great, with most of them showing why CAG really whips the llama's ass, some of them jovially cracked-out, and a few just plain insane. Thanks to everyone who entered!
And since this contest went so well, there might have to be sequels in the future. Keep an eye on this space for future giveaway goodness!
(resume original post)
To show my appreciatation for winning one of the Xbox 360 contests (woot!), which of course I wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for the magnificent CAG community, I'm giving away a new copy of Madden 2006 for 360!
To enter, just post in the thread with a message saying how much CAG rocks your mom's socks (metaphorically or literally). I'll pick the best entry and send off your new Madden 2006 for you to play, trade, sell, or melt in the oven (I hear it lets the evil EA spirits out). One entry per person, please only enter if you have an address in North America to receive the game.
The contest ends at midnight on Sunday the 25th, and I'll notify the winner soon after and ship the game out as soon as possible.
Hut, hut, hike!
EDIT: Just to clarify, this contest is open to everyone, regardless if you have a 360 or not. Play on!

CAG is great! My latest Deal just yesterday got my great Christmas presents and stocking stuffers for only $9.99 each. I also Scored a Rare DDS for myself. Without CAG I would be a stupid, mindless shopper shovling out $50 plus for games. Also without CAG I would not have meetinteresting people to play on Live with. Playing with Cheapy on PDZ vs. Bots is great. CAG Rocks!
Thanks for the awesome contest.

CAG is full of caring and intelligent people (most of the time........*cough*kimsh0t*cough*) and always has the next best deal of the century within an hour of it being posted or found. People donate and trade every day, which is very respectable..I don't see deal forums elsewhere who get so much money to donate to people...I mean come on, for Cheap Ass Gamers the people here do donate alot XD it's because of CAG that many kids in hospitals will get that mario party and portable gaming system =)
Also people can come here for deals on anything, if they ask, which is nice and says a big "screw you!" to Fatwallet hoarders =P
I myself have done trades, I was spectical (sp?) at first when I came here, but it only took 3 trades to show me that people here can be trusted (99% of them atleast) as well as get good deals (45$ for 8 near recent PC games :D).
^_^
Thanks CAG!

By the way, last night I won $20 off bets by playing Madden 06 against a friend. 4 games, $5 each. I know Madden isn't as good for the 360, but who cares.

Without Cheap Ass Gamer, I wouldn't know any of the good deals. Honestly. When I discovered it a couple years back from EGM's mention of it, I didn't expect the wealth of knowledge I'd recieve. But not only knowledge, on top of that, good, intelligent people who can talk about videogames, unlike some forums (I don't even have to say coughcough because we all know who I'm talking about). This place has saved me countless dollars over the years, and it's inviting yet still pretty sleek layout makes it one of the best message boards on the web.

CAG made me think of a completely different perspective when purchasing games. I've been able to maximize profits and manage to get six 360 games for about $50 out of pocket. I've got over 90 XBox games and I don't have a job. I can't imagine how many games I would have if I actually had a steady source of income!

Socks are the devil. Ask any GI who's had to slog through muddy waters, or hiked through a dense, moist forest. They get wet and soggy thus promoting blistering coupled with heavy boots and much hiking. There was this one time where a friend had athlete's foot. Another friend was staying over for the night, forgot to bring another pair of socks, so he was given a pair of his socks to wear for the day. Despite them being washed, he, too, received athlete's foot.
It just so happens that for that week he was to go to the beach with his fiancee. Well, the athlete's foot festered so badly in his feet, that he was too embarassed to go. Cost him not only the medication for treating it, but also his fiancee. They broke up after that. Something about not spending enough time with each other.
He's been a wreck ever since. He became a hermit for sometime in his dingy, poorly furnished apartment that he had once shared with his fiancee. All he had to his name was $150, a spatula, and the clothes on his back. Dude was so poor and out of it that he tried to commit suicide, but he couldn't even afford a rope. So he tried to string together some socks as a noose. That failed obviously. Now he spends his days muttering to himself how socks are the bane of man's existence, sustaining himself on Ramen and playing Smash Brothers on his GameCube (which, incidentally, he bought through an advertised deal through CAG) on a 13" TV he found in the dumpster. Along with a half-eaten Whopper which he'll ration over a week to nourish his frail body.
True story. But remember kids, socks are the devil.

CAG literally does roxor my moms soxorz, as on this site I discovered a cheap ass site where my mom ordered a few pairs of rock socks. (rolling stones). and she loves them. * BLATANT LIE*
Anyways I would really like a copy of madden 06 for my brand new xbox 360 as well. I am a madden fan not like all these other :newbie: $$$$ers. I've owned every madden since madden 98, (thats when I started gaming regularly) and would really like to get the next-gen madden.

I walked by my mom's room one night when I heard her moaning "I need a cag...I need a cag".. I observed this for 3 nights. The next night when I came by there was Spek on top of her. I ran to my room and started rubbing myself... "I need a madden I need a madden".... She walked by I thought I said "I need a man...I need a man" so from that day on my mom things I am gay. All thanks to CAG

CAG is awesome, I save so much money by using this site. I used to buy $50 games all the time just a few years ago. Now I just wait for a deal to be posted on here or I just wait for a price drop. The people are also cool on here, I've gotten a lot of games by trading and I've saved a lot of money there as well. My wallet says thanks for that.
I don't have a 360 yet, but I will have one in a couple of days. I need Madden because I'll be able to tear up the NFL with my Bears--next gen style ;)

Me and my brother have made a killing off of CAG. We now are deciding on whether or not to follow a motto that on of his friends suggested 'You can't get better prices without MURDERING someone'.
The TRU sale rocked and we got a bunch of stuff for us and our friends for the holidays!
we love to spread all our findings to our friends along with forcing...i mean....telling them to join up so they can add on to these findings.
CAG has been just...just great for us.
(The only downside is our backlog of games is immeasurable.

Everybody loves their gifts but they have no idea I paid probabaly half of total retail price for them. My dad is sending me a 360 and Project Gotham so it would be great to have Madden to play. Ive been playing it since 92 on genesis and have yet to play 06 on any console. So pick me! Oh I also no where you live so ill be paying you a visit if you dont pcik me:D seriously:bomb:

Cheap Ass Gamer is he reason I'm able to be a gamer. If it wasn't for CAG I would have only a third of the great games I have now. Thanks to Cheap Ass Gamer, Cheapy D, and all the great CAG's that find and post deals on this site I haven't paid over $30 for a video game in almost a year, which is great because if I was paying $50-$60 a pop I'd probably have a collection of five games. This is one of the very few sites I've been to that actually feels like a community. I hope that CAG continues to grow, and at the same time remains the same great site that I know it will continue to be.

One of the first places I checked out when I got the internet at my current location was CAG. I saw that in EGM people posted awesome deals like Panzer Dragoon Orta for $14.99 . Since then I've gotten a ton of great deals like a used Sega Genesis for $12.99, Metroid Prime 2 for $14.99, a used PSOne LCD screen for $22.99 and that only scratches the surface on my mind. I'm not all take though. If I see something cheap somewhere I tell about it. From DR. Mario/ Puzzle League for $12.49, used GCN extension cables for a dollar and used DS games at good prices I've done my share. The site truly is like karma. My name is Earl,,, oh wait that's Whipsmartbanky.

Before I found CAG, I owned a Nintendo Gamecube and less than five games for it.
I now own all three systems, with the following game breakdown:
PS2: 138 games
XB: 90 games
GCN: 64 games
And those numbers don't even include the games that I got from this recent TRU sale.
That pretty much sums up my thoughts on CAG.

Without CAG, I wouldn't be so broke... but at least I'm getting tons of great games in the process. Without CAG, I don't know where I would go to complain about how Microsoft can't seem to get their fucking act together and send me a damn box for my broken 360. Every time I try and bitch about it with the customer service reps, the phone goes *click*.
CAG is made up of a great community of people willing to help each other (and bitch at each other about grammar mistakes and moral ethics). I don't think there's any other forum where you can find a huge thread solely about situations where people crapped their pants.

If you give it to me I will upload a video of me breaking it with a hammer with CAG written on it. If it sweetens the deal I will pee on it.
On a related note, today, after finishing all of my Christmas shopping I finished the month with $1,000 more than I expected. I have to thank CAG for helping me save money so much over the last two months. I've bought 2 360s, 2 DS's, and a ton of games for both and still have plenty of cash left to blow on a new PC.

Cheapy D was born into a mildly prosperous Virginia farming family in 1732. After his father died when Cheapy was eleven, Cheapy's mother, Mary, a tough and driven woman, struggled to hold their home together with the help of her two sons from a previous marriage. Although he never received more than an elementary school education, young Cheapy displayed a gift for mathematics. This knack for numbers combined with his quiet confidence and ambition caught the attention of Lord Fairfax, head of one of the most powerful families in Virginia. While working for Lord Fairfax as a surveyor at the age of sixteen, the young cheapskate traveled deep into the American wilderness for weeks at a time.
Tragedy struck the young man with the death of his half brother Lawrence, who had guided and mentored Cheapy after his father's death. Cheapy inherited Mount Vernon from his brother, living there for the rest of his life. At the time, England and France were enemies in America, vying for control of the Ohio River Valley. Holding a commission in the British army, Cheapy led a poorly trained and equipped force of 150 men to build a fort on the banks of the Ohio River. On the way, he encountered and attacked a small French force, killing a French minister in the process. The incident touched off open fighting between the British and the French, and in one fateful engagement, the British were routed by the superior tactics of the French.
Although hailed as a hero in the colonies when word spread of his heroic valor and leadership against the French, the Royal government in England blamed the colonials for the defeat. Angry at the lack of respect and appreciation shown to him, Cheapy resigned from the army and returned to farming in Virginia. In 1759, he married Martha Custis, a wealthy widow, and thereafter devoted his time to running the family plantation. By 1770, Cheapy had emerged as an experienced leader—a justice of the peace in Fairfax County, a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses, and a respected vestryman (a lay leader in his church). He also was among the first prominent Americans to openly support resistance to England's new policies of taxation and strict regulation of the colonial economy (the Navigation Acts) beginning in the early 1770s.
Cheapy was elected by the Virginia legislature to both the First and the Second Continental Congress, held in 1774 and 1775. In 1775, after local militia units from Massachusetts had engaged British troops near Lexington and Concord, the Second Continental Congress appointed Cheapy commander of all the colonial forces. Showing the modesty that was central to his character, and would later serve the young Republic so well, Cheapy proclaimed, "I do not think myself equal to the command I am honored with."
After routing the British from Boston in the spring of 1776, Cheapy fought a series of humiliating battles in a losing effort to defend New York. But on Christmas Day that same year, he led his army through a ferocious blizzard, crossed the Delaware into New Jersey, and defeated the Hessian forces at Trenton. In May 1778, the French agreed to an alliance with the Americans, marking the turning point of the Revolution. Cheapy knew that one great victory by his army would collapse the British Parliament's support for its war against the colonies. In October 1781, Cheapy's troops, assisted by the French Navy, defeated Cornwallis at Yorktown. By the following spring the British government was ready to end hostilities.
WHAT A HERO.

Just thought I'd share this.
Had a dream last night about the winners of this contest. spek specifically pointed out the top 3 entries. Another CAG came in 1st, I came 2nd. It was the way it was announced, though. It wasn't on CAG, but rather, I found the "winner's list" on an empty street. On a very large table was a foil-covered cake pan (about the size of a twin bed). At the very top was a chocolate cake with the name of the winner written in icing. On the side of the cake was the reason for why he picked it. spek repeated this for 2nd and 3rd place.
I got to the 3rd place cake, looked up again from under the foil-wrapping, and found a Geo Metro atop the cakes. On its back window in icing was, "Congratulations".
Oh, and the other part of my dream was even weirder.
It started out with me making out w/ Sarah Jessica Parker (I don't find her attractive, I just happened to see her on TV last night) in the shower, while outside was some sort of get-together. The "camera" didn't pan immediately to it, but I could just hear the words of some guy. Black screen fading to the man talking (yes, my dreams have direction), shot above only focusing on him and the few people around him. The scene sounded serious, but not somber.
Zoom out and we see a crowd mourning outside the house. There were two grills set up (yes, grills). Turns out they were all at a funeral. Instead of caskets, though, the bodies were placed in the grills. Only the torso and head of each deceased was in the grills. (This doesn't make sense...) On each table was clearly some picked clean ribs and the leg bones eaten clean of their meat by the attendees.
Camera goes fuzzy and we go to a flashback. We see a shot of the deceased before death. One looked like Matthew Broderick (he was on Conan). His torso has a gaping hole through which a man pours spider eggs. Blood spills everywhere as he screams in agony. He was apparently tortured to death.
Merry Christmas!

CAG is the best site on the net. If not for this site, I would still be excited to see games at $19.99. I would still have a 20 game collection. Never in my life have I had 20 games sitting on a shelf sealed waiting for me to play. Before CAG I would buy a new game at the beginning of the year then after beating it trade it in for some other games and continue the cycle. Then at christmas i would get the games I liked the most that year. One of those Christmas games would start my trade in cycle for the next year. Now cause of CAG. I have a backlog!!!1

CAG has given me the chance to try out different types of games that I normally would not have at full price, with games like Frequency and Amplitude (which were purchased for $5 at CC and $2 at Overstock even though they are probably worth full price looking back) being the biggest example. Trading here has been great too, everyone that I have dealt with has been honest and easy to deal with in an environment that works so well that it can regulate itself. There have also been tons of funny links posted here that have nothing to do with gaming most of the time, and for all of this I keep coming back here even if I don't have time to make a post for everything I see.

I've known about this website for a little over a year, and it's saved me at least four figures. I've got all sorts of games to play, and still plenty of money to live on. And it's all fueled by the users and their desire to help each other save some cash. How could there be a better site?

I woke up this morning and thought, "today sucks" but tonight I read this post and my Scrooge-like heart was melted away and replaced with one of pure love and joy for all! God Bless us all in a flamboyant way!

CAG rocks for this simple reason. I wouldn't even be able to enter this contest if it wasn't for CAG. I found a fair price on an Xbox 360 Premium from another kind unselfish, unhoarding CAG'er in the Trade forum. Without CAG, i'd still be checking stores every morning disapppointed because i wouldn't be able to find an Xbox 360. And although my 360 will arrive on my doorstep Tuesday, i haven't bought a game to play yet. Madden would definitely be a fun one to try my system out with.
Considering i sat outside the front of a Sears for 7 hours only to be screwed by the employees who decided to open the back door (for people waiting less than 5), getting a 360 finally was a godsend.

CAG is really great I check everyday sometimes manytimes a Day I have saved way over around $1000 since I heard about this site and I really owe it to this great site and the great people that post on here with the good deals, I have also helped my friends and coworkers save money for Christmas by pasting on the gret deals and just lately it was also alot of fun going in to TRU and telling the people that work there that this PSP game should be $ 9.98 can u scan it and they like man how did you know that !! LOL It was like very fun LOL
Had I never found CAG, my wallet might be a little thicker but who really needs a fat wad when sitting on your ass playing video games. Thanks CAG for thining out my wallet so I can I play video games comfortably.

Well Just like you. I also got a 360 due to CAG. But unlike you I had to wait outside in the -3 weather to get it. But because the numbers for Best Buy were posted on CAG I was able to get a 360. Due to this I have told all my friends about CAG becuase of what this community has done for me.
I <3 very much, but it doesn't return the affection in the least.
Should I start calling CAG "Dad"?

I love this site. I love this site because we're (mostly) all here for one reason.
We love games.
We just want to play more games. We're not here to make ungodly profits on ebay, we're not here to hoard massive amounts of "rare" games to sit on, we're just here because we want to play more games. If that comes to finding excellent deals on retail games, trading old played out games with each other, or helping someone else find a sold-out game for little or no gain, we're just here to play games.
It's that love for the hobby that makes this site kick so much ass.

I'm not trying to win, but this is why CAG is so cool - people helping one another out and being all around cool to each other. Plus, with it ending on christmas, it really has a nice holiday feel.
Spek, very nice. This is the type of thing that CAG is all about. Good job! :applause:
Ok, thanks for all your entries! I'll announce the winner soon.
