During some especially boring holiday shopping with the Mrs., I was lucky to have found this Mario Kart Arcade GP setup:

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/ymij/mariokartarcade/mariokartarcadegp.jpg

One of the cool features of the arcade version is that you can put your face in the game using the camera located above the screen. This is used as your icon in a similar way to the DS version.

Not suprisingly, the game seems like every other version of Mario Kart but with better graphics, the inclusion of Pac-Man characters, and more weapons & powerups. I've attached pics of little guide that was available to take with you.

Yeah I've read about it a bit. Since there are like only 100 arcdes in America these days I hope they port it to the Revolution as a launch title. Huh, one of Pac-Man's special items is a Dig Dug enemy. Also what place did you finish in and did you get a memory card?

man I wish those were here in the states. But I bet my cheap ass wouldn't want to pay the $3 bucks I'm sure it would cost to play the damn thing. Damn you you USA arcades !

Nippon arcades are so fun. Now you need to take some snaps of that dog-walking game, and what ever other new one they've got now.

The game has been released in the usa to arcades however the last time i checked it was only released in limited quantities so you will be very fortunate if you find a machine.

Now i could go on and on about arcade games i want to play but just cannot find due to the fact that the arcades around me never update anything, same old machines over and over.

I played it actually just yesterday here in the philippines in an arcade. I've seen it in 2 arcades and each play was 25 philippino pesos, which is less than 50 cents.(53 pesos= 1 dollar) it was pretty fun so many items, its a pretty good idea and having on revolution would be wonderful.

I took my son to the Gameworks in Columbus, OH yesterday as a treat before pre-school starts back up. Unbelievably they had the 2-player Mario Kart GP machine. This game is a blast - much, much fun to be had!

Wish they'd make a GCN port as a last hurrah.

I hope it comes to my local arcades/Dave & Busters/Gameworks.

Remember when F-Zero GX was in the cades? Now that was an experience.

SoCal locals: there's a 2-player setup at the Gameworks in Long Beach ( Shoreline drive; across the street from the aquarium )!

It's a fun game and all....'Kinda pricey at this arcade, though. See, even if you buy the $35 card, it's STILL about $1.50 a game.

They have a 2 player version @ Disney World (Space Mountain arcade). But, low sound and $1 a play...

Whoa, Timeout is still open in Springfield. Man I use to spend so much money there playing Afterburner, Double Dragon, MK, and Street Fighter back in the day. I'm going to have to make a trek out there just for nostalgias sake.

How do you power slide in the arcade version and get those little boosts? Wouldn't it be kinda wierd pressing a slide button then jerking the wheel back and forth (like the GC verrsion)? Just wonderin'.

I just played it today at Neptune's Kingdom (Santa Cruz, CA). There's a 2 player set up there. I just played it once because they charge $1. Since I got second place in the first race, I got a game over.

We can always dream, no? :)

I haven't seen Mario Kart in an arcade yet, but I have played F-Zero AX. Beautiful game, a ton of fun to play, and the feedback the cabinet gave (rumbling seat - whee!) added a lot to the experience.

Thing is, the Triforce arcade board is more powerful than the GameCube, so some extra work would be needed to get the games running smoothly on the Cube. And since Double Dash and GX were released for the GameCube, Nintendo is probably not interested in releasing the arcade counterparts.

It's a shame...releasing them at $20 a piece couldn't hurt anything, especially since Mario Kart would be almost guaranteed to sell well. And after all, doesn't Nintendo need to do something with all of the money the DS has brought in? ;)

I have heard about this elsewhere. $19999 is a bit too steep for me. How much does a corperation pays for?

I believe there's one at the mall here as part of the arcade the movie theater has, so I'll have to work out some free time to check out the games before a movie.

I'll have to look for it next time I'm in Vegas, Orlando, or one of the other few places that still have big arcades. We actually have a couple good arcades in downtown Indianapolis but I haven't seen the game here...doubtful if they'll get it as it seems aimed at kids and most of the games they get are more adult.

I played it at DisneyQuest in Orlando. They have 4 of them linked together and they're on free play since you only pay for admission to get in there. I wasn't incredibly impressed. It was a lot of fun but the steering is a little too "drifty" for me, I actually enjoyed playing the old 8 player Daytona USA setup more.

Muvico Paradise 24 in Davie has one. But damn kids broke the button on the steering wheel that allows you to use your items. bastards.

This is old news. I think you can hook these up online and search for players. About the cost it is like 1,000,000 or something brand new. If it was 1000 I would pass since the SNES game and Double Dash will allow multiplay online.
Then the N64 game is online already

God, why do you keep posting? :<

Anyways, I would make a special trip to Orlando to play the 4-player version, but I'm counting on DisneyQuest getting AfterBurner Climax sometime soon, so I want to wait and see if that happens. That game is my personal videogame messiah.

I just played this at the Chuck E. Cheese on the west-side of Madison, WI. It's much more of a standard race game than a Kart racer, but it was pretty fun. I got pwned by a kid who looked about 8, though, it was humiliating.
