How do you get the task manager to come up automatically when you hit C+A+D instead of the windows security box? I know theres a registry key you need to edit, but I cant remember which one... I tried google and it just told me the task manager is an important part of windows.

In User Accounts (in Control Panel), click on the option titled change the way users log on or off. Check use welcome screen, and it will go right to the task manager when you Ctrl-Alt-Del.
If you don't like doing that, you can get used to right clicking on the task bar, and selecting task manager.

That was the first thing I did.

Crap... I hate the welcome screen. I guess its a question of what I hate more... Ctrl+shift+Esc brings it up too....

You really weren't paying attention, where you?
I said myself that C+S+E brings up the task manager. Additionally, its possible to make CAD bring up the TM as well. That the entire point of my thread!

Well...pardon me! ;)
Hitting C+A+D on my XP Pro SP2 machine brings up the task manager (as well as C+S+E), but I also have Fast User Switching turned on which seems to enable the C+A+D task manager.
