Alright, I finally have enough money to grab one of these and the temptation at this point is just too much (not too mention I want one for this big long trip I'm taking). I've usually been skimming over the PSP threads for a long time now, but am very unsure of what kind of a deal would be the best for this system.

Edit: I wasn't sure if this should go to the Request a Deals section or the PSP section, so I just put it here.

The GigaPack comes with the 1 GB memory stick right? I'd definitely go with that.

the PSP gigapack should only be 299.99 right?

I'd go with that, then just pick your own game.

Wait for someone to sell a decent used one for a good price in the trading section.

Not sure what you meant by "worth then sandisk ms" so please elaborate and I get an extra bump for some more opinions :D

Go for the Giga Pack, and get Twisted Metal: Head On for $19.96 at Circuit City, and then snag Virtua Tennis for $14.99 A/C at Best Buy.

Two very awesome games for less then the price of one other PSP game.

I think he might have meant "worse then the sandisk".

actually it was tested and sandisk was actually better in performance iirc(should still be a thread on it from long ago)

I say you get the psp used for a good price, make sure it has no dead pixels and is the right version you want. Get a memory stick when you find one on sale for the right price.

If you want to get it new, wait for another price drop.

I might have to just grab those games even without owning a PSP yet since those are excellent price for them. I mainly want a PSP at the moment for Lumines and the system sell for me; Valkyrie Profile (Oh G-d please let this game be imported to America).

the thing is, even if it isn't shipped to the states, you can still play the imported version from Japan with no problem on your US PsP :D

and guys, he says he wants it pretty soon, so i'm guessing he doesn't want to wait for a good deal on a used one in the trade forum...i'd say go for the giga pack and get twisted metal and virtua tennis for now...lumines will drop soon enough :)

hope to get a few frags with ya on twisted metal online ;)

Some amazon reveiw guy for the psp said that you should not get any packs because it is more expensive than if you got your stuff seperatly. I don't know if that is true though. That gigapack sounds pretty good.

I'd monitor ebay and the trading forum and get a used one with 1.50 firmware for less than the cost of a new one but I'm a complete whore for homebrew.

So you can play imported UMD's on any PSP? I never knew that.

PSP is region free for games, but not movies.

Damn, can't find any giga packs anymore anywhere. Some stores say that they have discontinued it, while others say it is still going on and just pending shipment.

Anyway, here's a bump for some more votes and to see if anybody knows what is going on with the giga pack.

Well, since you can find the 1GB cheap now and then I voted for the Fry's deal since those games aren't half bad and well worth the extra cost.

I may be selling my PSP soon, firmware 1.5, 1 GB san disk, Untold Legends, and a 2 year TRU warranty.
I'll let you know if I decided to put it up.

I think the Giga Pack was only going to be released for a limited time during the holiday shopping season.

Damn, then I must have missed it. Right when I have the money to buy it too.

I was going to buy a PSP and picked up a Luminies for Christmas, but the cash didn't build up as I had hoped. If you're looking to get the game I'd sell it to you cheaper than what you'd find used or new retail. Hit me up with a PM if you would want to work something out.
