Strange.

My suggestions:

1. Get BOTH AdBlock AND FlashBlock. I believe Flash animations can trigger popups (or something like that).

2. Do a spyware scan. Spyware can create popups simply based off your computer.

What sites do you see popups with Firefox?

You can also get NoScript to couple with Moxio's #1 suggestion.

AFAIK, there are no pop-ups for this site, so maybe your browser got hijacked. Solution: stop going to the naked lady sites. :D

That could be the problem. I know some poker programs (which do give annoying ads) spawn more of their own popups with spyware.

Scan your PC with a free antispyware program.

No Ad-Aware is completely reliable. As is SpySweeper, Microsoft Antispyware, and SpyBot: S & D

I run both spybot and ad-aware as they both get things the other doesn't, that poker program is probably the souce of your problems,
btw, do the pop-ups open in FF windows or IE windows?

Yep, you probably have ad/spyware. I never see any popups at CAG with Firefox.

If spyware/adware scanners don't fix it, you should also use HijackThis. It's intended mainly for browser hijackers and finds things SpyBot and AdAware can't. Be careful, though, because browser hijackers screw with your registry to keep themselves on your computer, so make sure you read all the documentation for HijackThis before you mess with it.

Just a nice friendly correction. Adware causes popups and the like, spyware is just stuff people use to spy on you, like keyloggers which log every single thing you type on your keyboard.

Adaware 6 is good for getting rid of Adware and Spyware. You can download it for free, just do a google search.

Eh, not really. Spyware typically includes adware.

How about IE6 users. I refuse to use the slow-arse Firefox but I hate getting pop-ups. SP2's pop-up blocker really helps but there are some flash pop-ups that I would like to get rid of.

Try Opera, or try optimized builds of Firefox.

For those who still wish to use IE, Maxthon is a great browser shell with an intergrated pop-up/ActiveX blocker

Personally, I don't think anyone should ever use IE, ever, except to download a different browser.
