Someone pointed out Crash 5 for $5.

So, I found a Greatest Hits edition of Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex for $4.98. I checked the GC was $20 . . . but the PS2 was a "secret" discount

Not a great game, but I traded my GC $10 copy in for $12.50 toward Halo 2. But I had some "trade-in remorse" . . . but I needed one more "non-excluded" to turn the trick.

So, a PS2 version for $5! Cool!

LOTR was $8.48 yesterday. Today I noticed the clearence stickers have been removed so I go and scan one .....$16.99. WTF?

Every once in a while Target will raise prices, usually at the time a game becomes a greatest hit. For example I bought Enter The Matrix for the GC 3 weeks ago for $7.48. Almost 3 weeks later, at the exact same Target, the game scanned $19.99. Both were the Player's Choice version. I've also seen it happen to Test Drive 6 for the XBox about 6 months ago. One day it was $4.98, the next it was $16.99.

It's not on clearance, but on a temp price cut, basically, a sale that lasts for about 2 weeks. It goes back up to $49.99 on 5-10.

Not game related, but Target has put on clearance a Lexmark Z705 USB Inkjet Printer / Vivitar Vivicam 2.0 Megapixel Digital Camera w/ 16MB storage Combo package. Wal-Mart had this priced at $150, marked down to about $130. Target has them on clearance for $50. At least, the two near me in Columbia, SC did... Seeing as how I needed both a digital camera and a printer, I couldn't be happer shelling out $25 for each.

Price changes are very common at Target, there are times when items can be on clearance, and then return to regular price on a whim (usually happens when a game goes to a Hits series).

All the prices are also specific to the Poster's Target store (and hence why it's requested that posters post specific store locations), and Your Milage May Vary.

Just from the ones in my town, they differ greatly. I can only imagine that they will be different from other Targets outside my area as well.

Yup. I scan anything that either has a red sticker or that I have read about on the board in which I may be interested. The store closest to me usually lags in dropping prices as quickly as others...a true example of ymmv. I know another one to check out if there's ever anything I just absolutely want when it pops up here (most recently got the great deals on DC2 and SH3 for PS2 while my nearby store still had them scanning at $29.99).

The list I posted are some of the games that have been clearanced at one time. They may still be or may not be. It is just a scan sheet that you can take to target and go to a little scanner and see the price in store of the games. You should probably see what games are in the store and then scan with sheet. Basically, it helps you to not have to carry 30 things to scan.

The first file was a .tif file which is accessed using windows imaging. (Usually a program that all Windows computers have)

The second one was just a .doc file.... Wordperfect type file I think.

There's several targets near my hometown. Each seems to have their own "clearance section" in which they've moved any games $20 and under. So there's a lot of player's choice games and then games no one wanted to buy. One of them also had a "special clearance section." Those games were $12, but they only had Tonka, Spyro, a racing game and some other pos.

Our local Target clearance sections didn't have ANYTHING! Just a bunch of current games which are nationally marked down. Sure it had Hitman 2, Splinter Cell (the original), Def Jam: Vendetta, and Sonic Mega Collection, but those are 19.99 anywhere! :evil:

Oh, it also had this crappy Disney PSX game two-pack with Tigger's Hunny Hunt, and some other bad game for 15 dollars. I feel bad for the kid who will get that from his mom or dad.

I love Disney and I've been to Disney World 6 times (I'm going again this year), but I can't think of many good licensed Disney games, aside from Kingdom Hearts and the Magical Quest series of games on the SNES. Well, they had that one cool Mickey/Donald co-op game on the Genesis, ahh, fond memories of the Sega-Channel, but those days are long, long gone.

This is what I was always thinking until lately, I've been consistently finding one or two random games on the clearance end cap a couple aisle's down. You're probably looking in that area right behind the locked glass cabinets. That's just for overflow.

The clearance end cap at my closest Target is overpiled with older Greatest Hits, Platinum Hits and Player's Choice games...and the shelving behind the locked glass displays used to be a mess of some newer Greatest Hits, Platinum Hits and Player's Choice games as on the side, but it recently got reorganized. If a game isn't marked already as clearance at the stores near me, then there's a good chance that it's not gonna be on clearance when scanned. All the sales from the Targets around me have effectively disappeared since early 2004, my guess.

Targets have reorganized their merchandising tactics in the last month. Many of the clearance games that used to be lost in the shuffle behind the glass have been tagged to sell. New floor plans have forced the Target in Burbank and Pasadena to go through a major overhaul in the game accessories section.

Same here. The game section has been redone so all of the games are now open to the public. The clearance games are clearly marked in the open display case. (As a temp. price drop.) The "clearance section" is worthless now for games.

In most Targets (at least all the ones near me) the entire electronics department (which includes video/computer games) went unde a giant clearance, which included things like DVD players, digital cameras, and televisions. Because of this, I think you will be a lot less likely to see as many Clearance deals as before (at least in this section).

Target usually goes through phases when they clearance a bunch of old stock out to make room for new stuff. Usually coincides with the seasons. Now it seems as though they are pretty much done with clearancing out the electronics dept. Don't worry though, after summer, they will be marking down all the past months and some of this summers games to make room for the new fall and xmas games.

Yes, bring in your receipt and ask for a price adjustment . . . you have 14 days for that.

You can also return a sealed game for 90 days! So, even if you bought it 2 1/2 months ago . . . buy a clearance copy, clean off tags and return it on your old receipt.

I've been thinking that I should buy new releases at Target, keep the receipt with the game (tape it inside the case) and when I see it cheaper, do a return . . . I don't know if I'm that cheapass though.

My Target (MD) won't adjust the price on clearance items. But they will let you return the item, and then buy it right back. In effect, this is the same thing, just a slightly different way of going about it.

The item must be unopened though.

I have done this with a number of items. (Games, Golf Balls, clothes etc.)

last week there were about 15 copies of Dynasty Warriors 4 for $15. I came back this weell and they're all gone. I only found one copy left of Xtreme Legends 3 which showed no price. They finally sold it to me for $7.99. Wonder if it worth it.
Also, I saw at another Target which has a double pack of Xbox Grand Theft Auto for $27.xx in casae anyone wants them.

In the Target in Aventura (Miami, FL.) I found 2 copies of Karaoke Revolution (with Mic) for $29.99. As far as I could tell there was only 1 copy left since I bought one :D
