Anyone got this to work properly? I can't get the D-pad to work, only the analog stick.

Haven't picked one up (yet) but I assume you installed the driver for it?

Does anyone know if a play and charge kit will work on a PC?

yeah, I installed the driver and tried calibrating it and the d-pad still doesn't respond. works fine on the 360 though.

Play and charge kit only supplies power, so that won't work.

Does anyone know if aside from the driver CD, the controller is identical? I could get the driver online from someone who has it and save 5 bucks by getting the version with the 360 packaging...id appreciate it if anyone has insight on the matter.

I believe they are the same thing. Just save yourself 5 bucks and get the one without the CD drivers. Then just download the driver from Microsoft.

You can download the drivers from Microsoft. If you plug it in Windows will should prompt you to search Windows Update for the drivers

theres a link to the drivers. And the plug and play kit is a no go on the computer

I'm not sure who is selling one for more than the other, but IIRC they are the same price at CC.

I've been using my dpad for MAME and it works fine. I did the driver search from Microsoft and got it when I first put the controller in.

Not to be insistent, but you're quite sure? Because I'll go get on with my BB coupon tomorrow if you're quite sure. The "PC" one is 5 bucks more and they aint getting 5 bucks more from me. Please let me know soon so I can get it tomorrow since I fly back to school on wednesday morning.
I'm excited to FINALLY have a gamepad for my computer that DOESN'T suck (and I had such high hopes for the original logitech dual action)

The difference with the PC version is that the drivers come with the controller and it has a different "red" packaging.

Cool...how's the D-pad btw? For emulation I'm really keen on having a good D-pad and there's yet to be a REALLY good PC gamepad in that dept...
Thanks for the responses, btw...time to go get one tomorrow :)
i just used a PS2 to USB converter and the PS2 conttoller has been great for emulation. Plus it is only like $10.
