always wondered about this... the new ones with the 4 and 5 blades it has that green strip that I guess puts mostiure on your face to make the beard softer... can you get sick if that Green strip gets into your blood supply??? I always end up cutting the fuck out of my face when i shave (around once a month) right now i use either a single blade or duel blade ... my cousin said the 5 blade ones would be better but i Wonder about the Green strip


might sound like a stupid question but i must know the answer : )

My guess is that it is non-toxic. At least in the small doses you would be taking in. Everything is toxic at a certain point, but my guess is that it is just some kind of lotion or soap which you could spend all day rubbing into an open wound and never get sick from it. Why you would want to do that is another matter entirely.

It's likely some aloe gunk, so no, it's quite safe to be taken internally.

yea puberty shaving really sucks.. i remember when i was 16-18 i had to shave about every week or have a major full beard .... i can let it go around 4 weeks now until it starts to bug me (start scratching stuff like that) ... i have a full face of hair within 10-14 days but it dont bug me until around every 4 months

i used one all though high school and hated them..i always thought they pull instead of cut , cant remember how many times it ripped the hair out instead of cutting.... i would stand there cussing for good 10 mins ever time it happened.... i would rather take a Razor blade with cream any day over an electric one.

Here's the thing though. If you really wait a full month (and you admittently have full growth after 14 days)... then your simply dealing with TOO MUCH LENGTH for a blade (or 3 or 4).

You should obviously @ that juncture point PRE-TRIM it using an electric clipper - to bring it down to right about your skin. THEN you use the Gillette Mach4 -or- like a Schick Quattro.

By the way I experimented with the 'powered' version of each of the multi bladers: The Gillette M3 Power and the Schick Quattro Power. I find the blades TOO NARROW on the Quattro Power - and when it comes to Powered Shaver-blades I preferred the M3 Power.

By the way if you really want to go all out you should check out the pre-shave and after shave balms @ www.theartofshaving.com . They are more of an oldschool type balm than your (alcohol containing) cheaper products. But then again it's about @ 25.00 per bottle :)

i personally hate shaving.... i been doing it since the freaking 7th grade .... thats right i had full beard in the 8th grade. i think some of the hair things are starting to die off cause once i let it grow for like 4 weeks some on the chin hairs start to turn white (LOL all i need is a white beard and im not even 33 yet)
