Yeah its about a 4-5 hour drive for me too. Don't think I'll be making the trip, but hopefully if the store does well they will expand further into the midwest and east.

It's kinda like going from Northern california to Disneyland for a day and then back. Except Fry's is like technophile Disneyland on steroids.

Fry's rules. They sell CPU's motherboards, RAM, all at good prices too. It is an awesome place. When I go to Cali, I always go to Fry'.

Heh I've known this since September, when I asked a guy who works at my local Fry's if they'd be expanding more. He said they planned to head to Chicago and maybe a couple other places towards the east.

Jeez. Some of you guys are obsessed with Fry's. Maybe because there are three or four around my area within an hour of each, I don't think it's as great as people say...

Fry's by far is teh best all around electronics store I have ever been to. Comp USA blows hard. BB and CC dont sell computer components....

Frys employees are not pushy. You'll be lucky to even find an employee to talk to. It's not like best buy where there are people asking you if you need help. If you go to frys you better know what your looking for. Because your not going to find help easily. Plus if you do find someone chances are they don't know anything about the product your asking about. However, the high price items like TVs, Appliances & Car Audio do have people willing to help you.

I miss Fry's. I used to live in south CA and had one 15 minutes away, but now in NJ there aren't any nearby. I need them to come to the NY/NJ area.

Fry's is the store you can love to hate. Idiot employees, misplaced items, etc. But if you know what you want it's ok

The employees in my area are actually very polite and helpful. The stores are generally in great shape, and I can always find what I need with no hassle.

I'm not sure what's wrong with the ones in your area.

I have always had a great experience at any Fry's I have been to.

It's next to impossible to find anyone to help you at the Fry's in Sacramento, but I don't really mind, I go there for the prices anyways and 9 times out of 10 I know what I'm looking for. Although 1 time after searching 5 minutes for an employee he was actually helpful. They had Ikaruga on sale for very cheap but they were all out so he asked if I wanted the display copy, I took it. As I was about to go he let me know that Rogue Squadron III was also on sale for a really cheap price and he found me a new copy of that too. I wish I could remember the prices, they were really low though, this was around New Years Eve.

Well if its just computer components, Id stick with newegg.com .. great prices and no tax, Free ship in most items too. If it was just closer to home or work, maybe its worth checking out.
