Countless jokes about the state of the show. Quite possibly the best AD ever.
Damn, those folks at the Home Builders Organization.

I missed it, but do tell; your post seems to imply that they were hinting about going to HBO, but perhaps you can spell out what happened for me?
BTW, check out David Cross' diatribe at the end of the blooper reel on disc 3 of season 2 dvd. It succinctly, if not vulgarly, explains how many people feel about the show.

damn, this is the first one I could have seen all year. I had class at that time slot, then last week I don't know if it was on or not but I wasn't home. I was actually home yesterday in time to watch it but didn't think of it.

last weeks was better and so was the one with the fight between Astro Boy and moleman, but it was still pretty good.
Ron Howard constantly telling people watching their shows to tell their friends about how great the show was was definately a nice touch.

That was perhaps one of the single most clever, intelligently written sitcom episodes I've ever seen of any TV sitcom. I mean, there was the ongoing inside joke of saving the show/company which brought about the Home Builders Organization and the talk about Showtime. There was all the gimmick shows thrown in there like 3d and a live episode. If this really does go away I'm definetly going to be missing it.
Oh and don't forgot the website from the episode:

You forgot the "someone will die" promise which they gave up about halfway through the episode.
You are not the only one that will miss it.

I also enjoyed the cameo appearances that had nothing to do with the family and the 5 Richter brothers (I forgot about the short lived show quintuplets he was on).
It was a good episode, I wouldn't call it the best they've had though. If they wanted to add another classic ratings grab, they add a new family member or a talking dog named Poochie.

they are adding Justine Bateman next week as the long lost Bluth sister
<<That was perhaps one of the single most clever, intelligently written sitcom episodes I've ever seen of any TV sitcom.>>
While I was watching the show I just kept repeating how freaking brilliant it was. There was so much depth to it. The simple addition of George Michael saying "man!" at the end of his diatribe was GENIUS. The whole idea of remaking the show into a typical sitcom could have come off as extremely but was done in a way only Arrested could do.
I would have personally made it the last episode, however. If a show has to go out, that would have been one hell of a way to do it. Also, props for Fox for running the funniest AD episode ever ("To the nuts!") in the 8:30 rerun slot.
The latest rumors FYI are that ABC is the most likely network to pick up the show if anybody does. I have no idea where it would fit into their schedule but shoot, I don't care. I'd watch it on freaking Telemundo if I had to.
This show reminds me why I hate American culture. Intelligence is not only lacking, it is purposefully ignored.

Yeah I did. "Ok we'll just tell you now, this is the lady who dies."

That would be the best if they moved it to a Spanish language station. It would fit in nicely, I think, what with the chicken dancing and all. Caw-ca-caw-ca-caw-ca-caw.

The episode last night was great.
If anyone missed it and can't download it the OP (http://www.the-op.com) has a transcript of it, and every other episode of Arrested Development, but the site is down right now.

Actually the joke was that HBO wouldn't save them, so when they decided to put on a fundraiser they said something like "I guess it's showtime!" ;)

We would have had Justine next week. However, the two new episodes of Arrested Development that were going to air next week were replaced by House reruns. (http://www.fox.com/schedule/schedule_nextweek.htm)

Oh oh oh that reminds me of the the other inside joke.
They all think George Michael has obsessive compuslsive disorder. Then they refer to it as "The O.C. disease".

Chris Alexander, a spokesman for 20th Century Fox, which produces the show, said Showtime and ABC have expressed interest in “Arrested Development,” but a deal has yet to be reached.

didnt want to start a new thread.... but i just read from several sources searching on google news that fox is going to air the last 4 episodes all in a row, for a 2 hour event. itll be on friday feb. 10, opposite the opening ceremonies of the olympics. nice to know that fox is giving it such a good time slot, this will no doubt boost ratings and bring the show back (sarcasm). so anyway, set your tivos.

I'm as big a fan, or bigger, of AD as the next guy, but $12/mo for 24 mos. to get ~26 eps, as well as a bunch of other content I won't watch? Uh, no. That's not even remotely cheapass --
that's more than $500! Sure, the DVD sets will be more expensive now because premium cable DVD sets always are, but vs. $500? Uh....

I would just do what I do with The Sopranos and HBO. Pick it up for the season and drop it immediately after.

I'll just download the episodes, like I do now. Of course I'm not looking forward to paying $50 a season on DVD, but I'll live.

Wow, I feel bad for fans of Reunion. Talk about a total cock-block. The shows were never produced before being cut so even a DVD release won't wrap up the show.
