I'm always looking for video game wholesalers to feed my eBay business.

The wholesalers I've come into contact with try to sell me several month old games for 90% of the retail price.

Today, Ingram Entertainment tried to sell me King Kong for $49.99 with a 10-15% discount for bulk purchases. Gee, I just bought one from Game Crazy last week for $24.99 and I can't sell the Xbox version for over $30. Anybody want to guess how many I bought?

I ran into a similar price in 2004 with Red Dead Revolver and Eagle (regal?) Wholesale after I could buy it used from Blockbuster.

Has anybody found legit wholesalers that can part with $50 games for $35 at or near their release date or working used games for a discount?

I know this is farfetched and margins on new games are supposedly modest, but the deals on this website contradict that belief.

TRU's B2G1F sale the week of the RE4 (PS2) release springs to mind. Either TRU was taking a loss on every RE4 or their out of pocket cost was less than 75% of retail.

Massive price drops on games like RE: Outbreak File #2 are another example. Companies didn't pay $40 on a game they're selling for $30 ($25 after a common coupon) two weeks after its release.

I know there are advertising links to wholesalers on CAG, but the ones I've seen are linked to unreliable eBay powersellers trying to unload older sports titles or want an upfront entrance with no promise of results.

YOu might be able to get somewhere by trying to call up the manufacturers or distributors themselves and explain that you are a business looking supply options. Most likely they would give you the name of a few other wholesalers to try.

Do you mean calling up Capcom, Midway or EA or do you mean calling up Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft?

The chain from video game developer to Wal-Mart's shelf isn't public knowledge.

I was referring to Capcom, Midway, EA, etc. I actually work as a sales manager at worldwide company that only sells to wholesalers or large retailers, so I would assume it would be similar. If someone where to call in we would usually give them information on who to contact. You may need t provide some type of proof that you are a legitimate business though, but I think I remember you mentioning in another thread that you have a business license already which should suffice. Anyway, I would just start trying to work my way back from one of those companies if possible.
