I'm always looking for video game wholesalers to feed my eBay business.
The wholesalers I've come into contact with try to sell me several month old games for 90% of the retail price.
Today, Ingram Entertainment tried to sell me King Kong for $49.99 with a 10-15% discount for bulk purchases. Gee, I just bought one from Game Crazy last week for $24.99 and I can't sell the Xbox version for over $30. Anybody want to guess how many I bought?
I ran into a similar price in 2004 with Red Dead Revolver and Eagle (regal?) Wholesale after I could buy it used from Blockbuster.
Has anybody found legit wholesalers that can part with $50 games for $35 at or near their release date or working used games for a discount?
I know this is farfetched and margins on new games are supposedly modest, but the deals on this website contradict that belief.
TRU's B2G1F sale the week of the RE4 (PS2) release springs to mind. Either TRU was taking a loss on every RE4 or their out of pocket cost was less than 75% of retail.
Massive price drops on games like RE: Outbreak File #2 are another example. Companies didn't pay $40 on a game they're selling for $30 ($25 after a common coupon) two weeks after its release.
I know there are advertising links to wholesalers on CAG, but the ones I've seen are linked to unreliable eBay powersellers trying to unload older sports titles or want an upfront entrance with no promise of results.
