I opened port 6881 on my firewall but during my configuration it says nat error when i test it. Please help

First, I'd use a different port than the standard BT port. Some ISPs think it proper to throttle those ports. Anything above 10000-50000 should work.
Second, head over to the Azureus wiki (http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/PortForwarding#NAT).

What's your ISP?
Do you have both a firewall and a router?

yay i figured it out i had to open the router ports! Thanks poldy and for the site.
I am now sailing smooth and noticing the major difference in speeds :bouncy:

Good. Depending on your BT usage, you might find Azureus takes up a LOT of RAM with many torrents simultaneously open. If so, you might want to check out uTorrent. It's feature-rich like Azureus and uses very little CPU/RAM. But, I like both clients, personally.
