I know they want you to pay for the EA pack or whatever but do you think there will be any way to load a custom avatar to your online profile?

This has been discussed before, but it may be a possibility once the camera accessory comes out. Microsoft has thought about the idea, but I think they are concerned with being able to make sure everything is not offensive. It's really not that big of an issue for me as I think Xbox Live is perfectly fine without having to look at pictures of people's wangs.

isn't there a way they could censor crap like have a place on the site to report offensive avatars or something?

either that or just have thousands to choose from instead of the 50 or so.

Yes, they could do that, but there's going to be borderline stuff that is going to be tricky. It would take a lot of effort to police and decide what stays and what goes. I mean, just look at the avatars used on this site alone. A lot of the nearly naked girls would not go over well with a lot of people and you'd get people reporting those a lot and possibly giving people negative feedback just based on their avatars alone.

I totally agree with that. I guess it would be nice if other companies/IP holders jumped on board so MS could offer say a pack of Simpsons avatars for 100 points and pay Fox a license fee or something like that.

I'm still waiting for the "make your own stuff and put it up in the markeplace to sell" feature. Hopefully that would be an easy way to sell stuff for ms points. That's if its still in the works and hasnt been canned.

Simpsons Avatars would own. I would totally get Radioactive Man. UP AND AT THEM!

I doubt they'd ever do it. It would all but kill the potential marketplace for avatars. I'm sure someone would start screaming their head off because some guy had a chick's rack for an avatar and 9-year-old Timmy was subjected to it during a friendly round of Spongebob Online Adventures or whatever.

I doubt we'd see much of peoples' cock'n'balls and Goatse as peoples' avatars on Xbox Live. I say that because all of the loud mouth brats and mealy mouthed teens and early twenty-somethings are homophones -- homophobes in that they're actually terrified of homosexuals and being thought of as homosexual...

Seeing pussy-wussies and pr0n, I can deal with... but I have a feeling we'd see a lot of dead bodies and morgue photos, and the like.

I would love to have custom avatars, though.

I can see MS letting people add their own icons later on. I mean Hell Nintendo lets you create your own icons.
