Any chance of getting Internet Explorer as a download or something in the future? Is this even possible?

It would be 100% possible for there to be a web browser for it right now. Whether or not Microsoft wants to release one however is entirely up to them.

I still don't see a reason you'd want to surf the net with a controller...

It's a nice alternative if you just want to browse for something real quick, like say a code or FAQ.

If microsoft ever release 1, and it's anything like the PSP... I say skip it...

I mean who doesn't have a computer these days... I have about 4 in my house...

anybody remember the dreamcast browser?

It is completely possible, but I don't think they will do it. They want to maintain the identity of a gaming console, not a budget (albiet VERY good) computer. If they do, I can almost guarentee it will not have flash/java support, and will most likely be limited in other ways as well. That said, I would LOVE to have it. I use my PSP for browsing much more than for playing games. It is excellent for having gamefaqs at your fingertips while playing. It would be even better to be integrated into the console you are playing on.

Bingo. That's exactly what I was thinking. Imagine getting to a point in a game you can't pass and being able to ask around here or look on gamefaqs without ever getting up.

I agree. It would make the 360 that much more convienent then it already is

Actually that would be pretty dope. I hope they take some sort of step towards it.

Don't think it will happen. Viruses, browser exploits, etc could either destroy quite a few 360 or ruin the Live experience through super easy and widespread hacking/cheating.

it'd be nice just to have around just in case.

That bump was so hard I think I broke something.

Answer: No.

...which is too bad. They should release one.

I'd be concerned about security issues with a web browser given how eager hackers are to target Microsoft. I'd prefer not having a browser if it ensures that Live is kept more secure.

I honestly would never use a browser on any of these machines though.

I recently saw an interview with Peter Moore where he was asked about a web browser. He basically said there will never be one.

And if the Wii or PS3's browser is a hit, he'll do a 180.

I'm sure that's true.

But I have a hard time believing the Wii's browser will be a hit. Have you ever tried surfing in 480 resolution?
