There are several games (especially on Arcade) that has some achievment points that are reached by (for example) breaking hearts 100 times, or getting 1000 head shot kills, or playing for 10 hours. Does anyone know a way to be able to view your progress to date on some of these types of achievments?

good question. Also, i wonder where that data is saved - within xbox live or in individual game saves.

Blade games, and choose achivements and it shows you the ones you have gotten.
And if you go to saved games, choose the game and achievements and shows all the others. And theres websites you can go to, ex: http://xbox360achievements.com/content/view/37/81/

I dont think hes asking where you can see the achievements themselves, but where you can see the progress of certain achievements like # fo hours played or # of headshots

It's up to the game, and none of the games I have played told you these things. Zuma didn't tell me how many more coins I needed, PGR3 doesn't say if you have a 25 meter powerslide, etc.

Ok, found out how to tell in Pd0. Chose your name in the match pregame, and select pregame stats. Just doesnt tell you seperate kill counts.

Or not knowing how to get Acheivements? He's wondering as to how to find out what your progress is on certain achievements that require a certain number of kills, or number of hours played in certain games.
Say if there was an achievement in PGR3 that requires you to drive in-game 1,000,000 miles (there isn't, but just an example), he wants to know if there's a menu in the game or in the dashboard that tells you how many miles you've driven.
I guess some games don't show your progress that way.

The PDZ kill details are iffy at best. I'm at well over 1200 headshots and have yet to get the 1000 headshot achievement. Many other people have complained about similar occurances.

These achievements for Bankshot Billiards are pretty impossible to um...achieve.
Bankshot Hustler - Win a total of 50 games in any game mode, not including 3-Ball, without losing a turn.
Bankshot Ultimate Hustler
Shark 5 consecutive games of 8-Ball, or 9-Ball, or Cutthroat, or Euro 8-Ball, or 14.1 Continuous

this is what i've found out,. PDZ records anything you do whether you leave a game or you don't. so if you had like 10 headshots in a game and you leave, PDZ will record that in your stats, BUT it won't couint toward your achievements. I THINK this is how some people think they might have the achievement but actually don't. Just a theory...

The ultimate hustler one isn't as hard as you think. There's a little "cheat" in the game that makes it very easy to pull off. When you start a game, you always go first so what you do is keep shooting until you lose a turn. Then when you lose a turn and would subsequently lose the "sharking" streak, just stop the game and go back to the main menu and start the game over again. It doesn't count that gmae toward the streak. I discovered this the other night while playing, check my gamertag and you'll see I already have the Ultimate Hustler achievement.

Thanks for the tip. When it says "shark" does that mean without losing a turn?
SOMEONE STICKIE THIS PLEASE

Again, no reason to. Explain to me why this thread needs to be stickied. What valueable information is here? How to find out what you need to get acheivements?

The reason why I ask for this to be stickied is because of this link http://xbox360achievements.com/content/view/37/81/ with information of unknown achievements. I really think this is important information for people interested in completing achievments but I guess its just me. Nevermind then.

If you wanna get this stickied then you might wanna get the OP to add some useful stuff to the post. Some listings and explanations of some of the odder achievements out there. Though I think the Dashboard does a pretty good job of explaining things, but I'm sure there's still a few achievements that some may need guidance to get.

Those achievements aren't unknown, explain to me how that's different then looking at the blade? A site that would actually be useful would have what is required foreach of the achievements.
For example:
Tony Hawk American Wasteland.
Completed the game 100%!
Does that mean all gaps? Does that mean all difficulties? All this site does is just copy exactly what's on the blade, nothing more.

Actually in the two types of multiplayer games online, you have to get 1000 headshot kills in just one. If you get 500 in one and 500 in the other you still have to get 1000 in one mode.

So it's not cumulative.
BTW, anyone know about some of the achievements in Ridge Racer 6? I'm guessing it's on GameFAQs, but I don't want to trod through it now if I can get an answer.
Specifically, I'm wondering what you have to do to get the points for the one dealing with the secret messages from Reiko? Is that primarily done through completion of a certain branch in Xplorer mode?

Ok dumb question, are achievements stored in your Gamer Profile on the Hard Drive ? or ar they stored someone in the file for that game ? Basically, I just want to know if I delete all the saved game, downloads, etc for a game will my achievements still show for my profile ?
