So I have a Ben Folds Five song stuck in my head. It's not "Brick". I can't remember the lyrics. It was a single, obviously, since I heard it on the radio. I can't remember the name. I can't remember the CD it's off of. It's from the mid-90s. HELP!

I gotta say, if there's no after thing, the ending for Suikoden IV was weak. There's gotta be something more to it, since they basically don't tell you what happened to the hero. Even the typical Suikoden "Here's what they did after the game was over" thing didn't explain. It just ended with a ... after saying something that was nowhere near closure. I really hope there's a scene after the credits, cause the game isn't as bad as some reviews made it out to be, and I really liked the story, since the Island Nations War was mentioned in the other games.

In honor of this OTT, some classic lyrics/transcripts of Cheech & Chong:
My momma talkin' to me tryin' to tell me how to live
But I don't listen to her 'cause my head is like a sieve
My daddy, he disowned me 'cause I wear my sister's clothes
He caught me in the bathroom with a pair of pantyhose
My basketball coach, he done kicked me off the team
For wearin' high-heel sneakers and actin' like a queen
The world's comin' to an end, I don't even care
As long as I can have a limo and my orange hair
And it don't bother me if people think I'm "funny"
'Cause I'm a big rock star and I'm makin' lots of money
money, money, money, money, money, money
Ahhh! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...
I'm so bloody rich! Ha ha ha ha
I own apartment buildings and shopping centers! Ha ha ha ha
And I only know three chords! Ha ha ha ha
I SAID TURN THAT THING DOWN AND GET READY FOR SCHOOL!
Hey! What are you trying to do?! You ruined my record man, I just bought it!
I don't care what you just bought! You get your little fanny perpendicular and get ready for school.
I'm not going to school.
What do you mean "your not going to school"?
Just what I said, I'm not going to school!
And why not?
Because I'm sick, that's why not.
Sick, you're sick alright! What's wrong with you now, Prince Charming?
I got an earache.
An earache my eye! How would you like a butt ache?! Now get your little fanny out of that bed and-and clean up this room, it looks like a pig sty. You hear me?
[Pig snorts]
Alright, that's enough! That's enough! You pushed me far enough, young man, you're getting punished. Now stand up!
NO!
I said stand up!!
AHH!! Let go of my hair man!
Now young man, I have talk to you and talked to you and talked to you 'til I'm blue in the face, and I'm done talking to you!
Good, does that mean you're done spitting on me, too?
SHUT UP! I'm not done talking to you! Now turn around and bend over!
Oh, what are you gonna do, you pervert?
Pervert, why you snotty nose!
OWW! OWW! OWW! OWW! OWW! OWW! OWW!
Oh, shut up! I haven't even touched you yet! NOw I want you to know this is gonna hurt you a lot more than it's gonna hurt me.
*small smack*
Oh wow, that didn't even hurt.
Oh yeah?
*small smack*
Oh wow, what are trying to do, tickle me?
Tickle you? Yeah, I'll tickle you!
*BIG SMACK*
OWW!!!
Oh yeah, is that a tickle, huh? How about another tickle?
*BIG SMACK*
OWW!!!
Come on, laugh it up, funny boy!
*BIG SMACK*
OWW!!! NO MORE, no more, no more!
Alright, are you gonna do what I tell ya?
YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!
Are you gonna talk back to me?
YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!
WHAT?!?!?!?!??!
I mean, NO, NO, NO!
Alright. Now you get your clothes on, and get your little butt ready for school. Right now, do you understand?
Yeah, yeah.
Alright.

Basketball Jones, I got a Basketball Jones
Got a Basketball Jones, oh baby, oo-oo-ooo
Yes, I am the victim of a Basketball Jones
Ever since I was a little baby, I always be dribblin'
In fac', I was de baddest dribbler in the whole neighborhood
Then one day, my mama bought me a basketball
And I loved that basketball
I took that basketball with me everywhere I went
That basketball was like a basketball to me
I even put that basketball underneath my pillow
Maybe that's why I can't sleep at night
I need help, ladies and gentlemens
I need someone to stand beside me
I need, I need someone to set a pick for me at the free-throw line of life
Someone I can pass to
Someone to hit the open man on the give-and-go
And not end up in the popcorn machine
So cheerleaders, help me out
{cheerleaders sing repeatedly...}
(Basketball Jones, I got a Basketball Jones)
(I got a Basketball Jones, oh baby, oo-oo-ooo)
{while Tyrone Shoelaces sings/speaks...}
Oh, that sounds so sweet
Sing it out
C'mon Coach Booty, Red Blazer, sing along with me
That be bad, honky
Yeah
I want everybody in the whole stadium to stand up and sing with us
Oh yeah, sing it out like you're proud
All right, everybody watchin' coast-to-coast, sing along with us
Bill Russell, sing along with us
Chick Hearn, sing along with us
Chris Schenkel, don't sing nothin'
Oh, it feels so good
Gimme the ball
I'll go one-on-one against the world, left-handed
I could stuff it from center court with my toes

double the plays and official teams. Its the same game, just a billion times better. Did you only play tecmo bowl as a kid? I ask this becuase sometimes when I try to play older games that people consider good, I just can't get into them because I didn't play them as a kid.
I ment playing other players online.
Yeah I played them both as a kid. I was a little harsh on TSB but I guess it is because I haven't played it since I was a kid. I have played Tecmo Bowl off and on for a long time. That and RBI Baseball consumed alot of my life.
Oh I understand, my bad.

Yeah, I always got the Packers and would always go Jaws to Sharpe on the left side line all day.

I think I'm going to need a new power supply in the next month. The one with my Dell 4600 is starting o drag. At times I can here a funny buzzing from my PC and I think it's from the power supply fan. And I'm getting power supply glitches.
For example, I just added a 300 Gb Sata hard drive. After adding that equipment, that's when I first noticed the power supply was straining. When I boot up, about 20% of the time, there's a boot error where the bios has a problem auto detecting my new HD. Especially on really cold boots.
I think the problem is that the initial draw is so great when the PS isn't warmed up, that it can't handle the intital draw. So the Bios doesn't see it there until a split second too late. And then goes, "Hey, there's a hard drive here that I can't detect." This only happens on cold boots. And as soon as I hit the reset button the computer boots normally.
Further, I've decked out this PC since I got it. I've added a gig of memory, a 7800gtx, a 300 GB Hard Drive, and a USB wireless receiver. I think the hard drive just put it over the top.
Numbers suck.

I think if you didn't put the 7800GTX in there, you'd be OK.
Though it does sound like the PS is getting too much draw out of the initial power-up cycle. Finding a bigger one is going to be pretty much impossible, I'd bet.

Best Buy's buyers are almost as bad as Media Play/Musicland's are. They have to be buying into all the hype that the game companies throw out there and buy everything their salesmen are telling them. I mean there are STILL 30+ copies of 50 Cent Bulletproof that are 50% off at my local Media Play that is closing. That's pretty sad when a 2 month old game can't sell at 50% off.

In semi-related news, my cousin and I spent a summer about 6 years ago playing Fire Pro D and pretending to be RVD and Fonzie (I was RVD). This was inspired by my cousin receiving a whistle. I'd blare Pantera's "Walk" on my shitty CD player and give Van Daminators to neighborhood kids. I even powerbombed one kid through a card table, not letting go of him so as to not accidentally kill him.

I'm reading the smoking Guna rticle about Frey's book a million little pieces. I've never read the book nor did I have any interest. But just reading the excerts from the book on the smoking gun website, it just reeks of absolute 100% bullshit.
How could someone get conned by this as real. It looks like it has great prose. But he claims to have done so much shit that it's humanly impossible. Hunter S. Tompson did crazy shit for a large part of his life and he couldn't have done a quarter of this shit frey claims to have happened to him in four times the span.
I mean, the whole priest grabbing for his crotch thing, I laughed. There is no way that happened. I might even for a split second it might even be plausable if it was an exception. Shit like that doesn't happen every day. It's conceivibly possible. But it's one wild implausibility after another and another and another and another. There's know way all of them can be true.
I've done some small writing of fiction and non-fiction, and I'm, working on my first fiction book, which knowing the odds of publishing, if I ever do finish it (because we're all woirking on a book, aren't we) I'll be lucky to have five thousand copies sold. But I've done enough personal writing and study of writing to notice the differences between fiction/nonfiction., Reading the way things are written sometimes it rings as untrue. And just the very prose that Frey uses rings untrue.
And from everything I've heard, it's a great book. So why the hell did he have to lie? He could have had the next Tropic of Cancer. Maybe he felt, and I know the desperation to break into the publishing world, that he had to lie and pass along the book as real to draw attention to it. But it's just stupid. He could have written the book exactly the same if he said it was fiction. And if it's truly as good as people say, it would have still been picked up.
I just boggle as the gullibility of people. Millions of people reading this book and thinking it's true. Just reading the excerts makes me disbelieve it!

I guess the best way to describe it, it feeds on impressions people have on certain ideas, and not on how they actually work in the real world. Again, using the priest thing as an example, there are people who think that a large portion of catholic priests are homosexuals or pedophiiles, so hje writes a segment about how he';s assulted by a priest.
The thing is, the way he describes it, it is the exact way a pedophile or homosexual WOULDN"T seek out a victim. He wouldn't
t just grab some guys crotch who walks into a church. He would pick a target, someone he knows, and slowly earn the trust of the victim. Nor would someone who's living a double life so brazenly, openly, and clumbsily reveal a secret of such magnitude as forcing a sexual assualt on a stranger in the church.
But for people who don't know anything about the mind of a pedophile or a sexual predator, that description feeds into their uninformed assumptions of how such a monster would behave, so it rings true to them, even though in life almost no such actual person would behave in such a fashion.

The magnetometer will absorb all the heat and basically bust your microwave. A faster way of doing this is to just put tinfoil in there and reflect it directly back at the magnetometer.

I would assume nothing, as the microwaves have no water to heat, thus all the waves get absorbed by the metal in the microwave. Interesting problem though.

I find that it's important to do two things. First, let your food sit in a microwave after it's done cooking for one or two minutes. Most people pull it out right after the buzzer.
Secondly, sometimes it's better to cook your food in parts instead of one long burn. In other words, depending on the food product, cook it for a minute, let it sit thirty seconds, then cook for another minute, instead of cooking it two minutes straight.

Passing on Venture Brothers for episodes of Morel Orel and Minoriteam? Uh, no, bad move, AS.
How is letting the VB guys work on the show so it's good a bad thing? You want them to release it earlier with the good chance of suckage?
Can't wait for Moral Orel, as having the first episode be a Xmas special wasn't a good move to make a good impression on people. Wasn't bad though, but the first commercials seemed much better than what they ended up premiering with.

Awesome. I just wanted to try it out, 'cause I've wanted to play FF1 forever, so I didn't play much, but what I did play, I noticed the black mage has much less HP than the others. While he gains, say, 8 HP, the Thief gains 29. But his magic is killer!

From what I've been told by people about it, it's not that they're human on a cellular level, they've just adapted themselves to look and be percieved as humans. Now, I haven't watched any of season 1 or the first half of season 2, so I may be just spouting off stuff that's entirely wrong, but that's what I've heard from people. That's why it seemed like the one guy was contemplating whether his child would be a toaster or not. Though I'm enjoying the fact that apparently anything sexual related to the Cylons is immediately akin to having sex with a toaster.

What a crappy way to start the day. Woke up with my stomach hurting, my cell phone when into "unresponsive callback".. which basically means it froze while I was texting, it powers up but never fully comes on, and i've lost all my pictures, text messages and phone numbers - again. This will be the fourth exchange i've had on my phone. Unbelievable. Before this model, the model I had before (the t720) lasted me a few years.. this model, the LG5200, won't even last me a few months. At least they exchange it out for me since it's under warranty. They better not give me trouble, this is all their fault.

On other, completely random notes. I found my NES and hooked it up. Played a little bit, but it was a bitch to get carts to load. Need to buy a new 72-pin connector.
Best deal all-around (shipping, cost, etc.) seems to go to this seller:
http://cgi.ebay.com/PREMIUM-72-PIN-Nintendo-NES-CONNECTOR-Best-Connectors_W0QQitemZ8250386746QQcategoryZ41046QQrd Z1QQcmdZViewItem
Anyone buy from him? Seems like he has a lot of happy customers, gives a lifetime warranty, is an authorized Nintendo reseller, and doesn't overcharge for shipping. If this is a good deal, I might pick up one of these next week.
Also, I finally hooked up my Xbox again. It now takes up the last remaining spot on my component selector. I've missed it, since I have a few titles that aren't BC. Now I just need to hook up my GameCube, and maybe finally start playing Wind Waker sometime before the new Zelda game comes out.

Well for a snes I'd check the trading forum. Pretty much everyone wants one in mint condition so there are a number of systems that have yellowed plastic that work just fine but no one will make an offer on.
As far as a nes you might consider buying one of the new third party systems, a friend of mine has one and it works great.

From all tales told, combining a new connector and recently cleaned games, its as if you opened up a brand new system. The cleaned games part is technically not needed, but will help prolong that new fresh feeling :)

So I stopped at EBGames, looking for some of those new DS styluses (The extendable Hori ones). I found them and left, and decided to stop in Game Stop for the hell of it. what do I find, but a used copy of Phoenix Wright! Now, this may not sound amazing, but no one around here has had a copy of that game new or used for a good while. So, I'm pretty happy, and take it up to the counter. I'm pretty sure it's used, since it doesn't say ~~NEW~~ or whatever, but when he sees the case, the clerk went back and grabbed a sealed copy from the back. It cost me $30, so, I'm wondering if it's used or not. Either way, I'm glad I got it.
So, yeah. I'm pretty happy I found a copy.
Then I picked up a few manga titles (buy 3 get 1 free!) and new 120 DVD rack for my games/DVD sets I had no room for.

Lmao yeah.
I remember my first play-through the game was somewhat challenging. But after I discovered the trick I totally blew everything in my path away.

I really only abuse it for chocobo breeding. But the game would be pretty easy if you really abused it.

Movie or game? I definitely agree about the game.
If you didn't like the movie, you might want to check out the novelization. It's really good; much better than the movie. I was disappointed after reading the book and finding that a lot of it wasn't put into the movie.

The movie. I have the game in the 360 but i'm too lazy to try it out. I don't want to read anything involving the trainwreck that was the movie.

I don't blame you. I was in a similar situation one time. I saw some movie (can't remember what it was... thankfully ;) ), and I hated it. A friend of mine said, "You should read the book. It's much, much better." After wasting a few hours on a piece of crap on film, I wasn't about to waste even more time going through that crap on paper.

Well what exactly did you expect from a movie based on catholic dogma? I mean look at all the other quality movies it's produced: End of Days, Dogma, The Prophcecy series, The last temptation of Christ.

Dogma was OK... but it was much better as a script from what I remember reading.

Feel bad... over "badmouthing" a movie?
I didn't say it was a bad movie. It was actually good. However, the script was much better. There's some stuff in there that would've been great in the movie. If I could just remember what...
Maybe Kevin mentions it in the commentary on the DVD or something. But I definitely remember reading the script after seeing the movie, and thinking that some parts of the script should have made the cut.

Dogma was great, I love some of the stuff Kevin said about when the movie first came and it was getting protested by preaching Christian freaks and he joined some friends in protesting his own movie as well. They made signs and everything.
