I am trying to get a psp tomorrow and I was wondering if it came with firmware of 2.0 or lower, could I play Lumines and emulator's on it? Also, would the 32mb card that comes with the system be big enough to run a emulator (preferbly a genesis one)?
Also, can you still find the psp gigapack at stores?

Emulators do work on 2.0, and Lumines does too. I have only done emulators on 1.5, but there are definatley some that work on 2.0. The 32mb is enough to run emulators, I had SNES, GBC, and Genesis emulators on my 32mb with 2-3 games for each and it was fine, it really just depends on how big the file is for each game you decide to put on it.

I saw a few Gigapacks at my Gamecrazy today, maybe others have some.

I haven't been "down with the scene", but isn't there a downgrader for 2.5 now?

Here's everything you need OP:
http://fanjita.org/ <--- go to the Eboot loader section. it's a program that lets you run emulators on a 2.0 psp. there's a list of what works and what doesn't on his page. most of the good stuff works.
http://forevergeek.com/psp/pspsetx_02_for_psp_20.php <--- lets you play 2.5 games on a 2.0 psp without writing to the firmware. it also has a downgrader (downgraders aren't that safe and imo, not necessary) and stuck pixel fixer.
hope that helps.
