"Lord only knows when the game will actually come out, but there’s a new trailer up for the long-overdue Final Fantasy XII. The CG engine and cut scene stuff looks incredible this time around. This one might be work the wait."

All I can say is ... RELEASE THE GAME ALREADY! ;)

Impressive cutscenes, further blurring the line between computer graphics and reality. I just wish the gameplay wasn't total ass.

I cannot wait for this game. The demo kicked ass (as much as it could) and the gameplay is great.

You can really see the Vagrant Story influence in this one. I need to somehow get a hold of the demo.

Couldn't have said it better.... The demo sucked in my opinion.

You're kidding me, I felt like I was playing an action RPG button-masher with no real strategy or stopping to think about what my next action might be. I felt like I was playing Kingdom Hearts, really.

What's wrong with his opinion if he enjoys games like KH?

I just think that Final Fantasy should always be strategic turn-based combat. I tried Wait Mode, too, and it didn't seem like it was doing it.

After playing so many turned based RPGs, I've personally lost the feeling that each action is a strategic decision since I normally just choose "Fight" most of the time with the ocassional spell for good measure.
At the very least, I'm glad to see them get rid of the load times with battles. Don't think anyone will complain about that. ;)

I disliked a lot of things about Final Fantasy X, but I thought the combat system was the most strategic turn-based combat I'd ever seen. Grandia was good, too.
I am glad to see random battles gone, finally. Nothing deters exploration moreso than random encounters.

I tried to watch it but the stream isn't fast enough. I'm gonna pass anyway.

Wow, just when you thought Final Fantasy couldn't get any chessier (with FFX)...

I felt like I was playing an offline FFXI (a game I love) with better graphics, cooler characters, and gave a nice refreshing change to the FF formula. Very fun, and I love me some badass Balthier to kick some ass. There's no button mashing, there's plenty of strategy, and if you can't think on the go, you must not play many action games then. Very, very fun stuff and I'm looking forward to this game. I may end up getting it the first day. :D

I play plenty of action games, I just don't think it belongs in something like Final Fantasy where there's menus upon menus of choices.

Except when the random battles are actually fun, because the battle system is so great (See: Shadow Hearts 1 and 2, Grandia series).
And after playing the demo, I have to say I am incredibly disappointed in Square. I thought Final Fantasy games are supposed to look BETTER than their older brothers, why does FFXII look significantly worse than FFX, a game that came out 4+ years ago?

The cutscenes look better.
But the main portion of the game, the dungeons, look terrible. Muddy, blurry, pixelated textures, just plain awful.

Are you referring to the demo because if you are, do you know at what point during the development cycle the demo represents? It could be fairly old and Square-Enix may have made significant improvements since.
Unless, of course, you have a better idea of why they keep pushing it back. So all I can say is to wait for the final version before passing judgement.

It's a PS2 game with a lot of large FMV content, they can only make it look so good. Shadow of the Colossus only looks good because it lacks that content, every inch of space is devoted to the graphics.

I'm way too excited for a game with no firm release date.

i was only slightly interested in it since FFT's own creator was leading the project initially, but after seeing the demo I can say it's a huge improvement on the old battle system and now I want it! The trailers don't interest me at all... the game itself though is going to kick ass. (needs to reserve...)

I'm surprised people didn't find the demo enjoyable.
Keep in mind they overload you with power on demos in order to make it easier.
The graphics in game and in movie sequences are excellent.
I would rather it be turn-based as well, but I still enjoyed playing the demo.
EDIT: The video is not there.
