I just got done with my first full game of NCAA MVP Baseball, and have some impressions I would like to post:

I don't know what exactly it is, but this game DOES play like college basball. The feel of the players, the various animations, and the fact that you won't see 98 MPH heaters from every other pitcher.

The new Precision Throwing WILL be scrutinized, mainly by people who will be too impatient to give it a little practice. Most people will be inclined to just flick the R stick to where they want to throw, which will result in a bad throw. Hold it down until the meter goes into the green, then release. Quite simple.

Load and Fire batting is exectued pretty well, although I didn't play it in the game I played. I am planning on getting a good grasp on it before playing games that count.

The pitching meter isn't as smooth as last years game, but I think it's intentional. You never feel like you can always, 95% of the time hit the perfect spot. Since college pitchers aren't nearly as accurate as their MLB counterparts, you SHOULDN'T be able to paint the corners constantly. My D+ rated Hokie were hanging with a better Penn State team, before my pitcher lost his control, gave up 2 gopher balls, and lost all his confidence. I also dig how your pitchers psyche factors in to how slow or fast the meter goes. If your pitcher is rattled, it's gonna be fast. If he's calm and cool since he's put down the first 7 batters of the game, it's gonna be smooth, and easier to hit the perfect spot.

Basically, if you were a fan of MVP 2005, and don't mind playing with unknown players (Heck, this has given me a chance to get to know my Hokie Baseball team), then you NEED this game.
