There has been art in the past of the look of the game, but these are the first screens of the actual game.

Think stealth based strategy gameplay (like Metal Gear Acid). The main character is still Jan Templar from the original Killzone. No date announced yet, but expect late this year.

Kind of reminds me of Crusader: No Remorse (http://images.google.com/images?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-34,GGLD:en&q=crusader%20no%20remorse&sa=N&tab=wi).

Is this one of the Killzone games that were supposedly already under development right after Killzone was released? I remember hearing about a Killzone 2 and another Killzone game game that was in development.

I didn't really think too much of the first Killzone but I guess I can't judge this one since it sounds like it'll be a bit different than the first.

the first game wasn't too great, but started the huge potential of a great franchise. This game seems like a small stretch, but i like it.

My quesdtion is this: Why do people still care about Killzone? Part One came out and it was pretty damn mediocre. Not to knock the op, because he's more than likely just posting this because it's a new PSP game and lord knows that's a rare comodity these days. I'm just saying that all I here is fucking hype over K2 and whether or not it's video was real or how fucking aweome it's going to be. Seriously K1 blew and it LOOKED pretty decent, what makes K2 any different?

like i was saying earlyer, its a great franchise that didnt start off on the best footing. It can only improve since every aspect of the game design was great, it just wasn't executed well on the first run. Personoly it's my favorite franchise to come out of Sony other than the ICO series.

Killzone has a pretty active online community, and among those who play it online, it is a favorite.

In terms of console FPShooters, KZ ranks pretty decent among folks who like FPSs -- It doesn't blow. 72% overall ranking on GameTab.com and GameRankings.com is average for a FPS, with some critical ratings lower and some praise higher, you can't please everyone.

Sony is committed to the Killzone IP -- conceptually it is pretty strong and has lots of opps for games.

The best thing Sony ever did was say that Killzone would be a "Halo Killer" even if it didn't live up to it, it still got a lot of hype (especially at sites like this one). If it weren't for the hype, Killzone would just be another Cold Winter - a mediocre FPS lost in the shuffle.

good thing they didn't turn this into a FPS... cause so far the FPS games on PSP blows...

that's what's exciting me. If they can make this original and action packed, i think it could be a cool shooter fix for the person on the go...

...i just reilized how optimistic i am about portable games...

I stopped trusting Gamerankings averages after I realized most of the higher ones are due to fanboy-ish mags/sites writing stupid reviews. Case in point: PSM gave Killzone a 9.5

Now Killzone wasn't terrible (let's say...7.5/10), but 9.5? Come on. I cancelled my subscription the day I got that issue. And more recently, they gave True Crime NYC an 8.0. You have got to be kidding me.

I agree. Killzone1 didn't live up to the hype (i didn't really expect it too), but it was definitely a solid shooter. I liked the single player of it and supposedly the online play is pretty fun (never tried it). Coming from a relatively small company, I can only see the Killzone improving in the future. I like the whole feel and atmosphere of the game. It is realistic but doesn't take the common route of using a WWII setting that most games use nowadays.

I think the developers can learn alot and turn Killzone into a great franchise.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the original Killzone, but I hope this PSP one turns out good. I'd really like to see the psp have a good year. It's got those six capcom games coming out, the new syphon filter, gran turismo psp will most likely be out this year, loco roco, exit, katamari, quite a few other games too.

It does kind of remind me of cursader, I guess it could have potential, wasn't a huge fan of crusader or killzone myself. I'll probably be busy with socom fire team bravo for awhile anyways, I havent bought a new game in a month since i got fire team bravo anyways.
