I currently have 56k, and I can not get DSL or Cable internet in my area. The only options I'm left with is WDSL and satellite. I am thinking about getting the WDSL, but I would like to know how the online play with WDSL is.
The company offers two packages, a 128/128 for $26.95/month, and a 256/256 for $31.00/month. If I end up getting WDSL, I'm going to go with the 256/256 package.
So with all of that said, here is my question. Does anyone know how online play would be with the 256 package? I'd like to play on XBL, but I don't think I can with WDSL. My other systems I can play on are DS, PS2, and PC.
Also, here are the packages and pricing for the WDSL internet.
128/128 $26.95
256/256 $31.00
768/128 $47.95
1.5/128 $57.95

I have played PS2 online with 256/256 DSL and it worked fine with me.
I only used XBL to download the extra Ninja Gaiden stuff so I wouldnt know how online with that is though.

Wireless DSL as they like to call it is just like the wireless on your laptop to wireless access point/router, but it uses a directional antenna on your roof instead. It points directly at your ISPs access point. It can go pretty far. I have heard upto 25 miles with a good line of site.
It does not suffer from lag like satellite and can be pretty fast if your ISP is nice or offers the ability to have upgraded packages.
The basic package here that my parents have is 1 mbps down/256 kbps up and from my testing it meets those criteria almost all the time.
Edit: My younger brother plays World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XI almost all day on it with no lag even when my parents are using it.

Anyone else know how 256 down/256 up would do with XBL and other online consoles/PC?

Wow I thought my dsl plan was expensive.
I'd go for the 768/128 but go for 1.5/128 if you can afford it.
I dont have xbl so I cant really comment on that.
The only time I played online was with the DS. For 1.5, I experienced no lag at all and neither did my brother while he surfs online. I never used 256 for online games but I did have it when I first started out with dsl. The 256 plan is a little better than 56k but not that great. The other thing about 256 is that sometime when you watch online streaming videos it requires more than 256.
