View Full Version : Scamming the Scammer.....

It all started with an ebay auction when the seller got an email from a dude who wanted to scam him. It was a normal setup, and it went horribly wrong... for the scammer. This has turned from a awful plight for a ebay user to a wonderful prank on the scammer.
It's a little long, but well worth it!

Wow, that made my night.
SA keeps nagging me to register, so I didnt see any delivery pictures, or what happened at the end, just the email he sent on May 11th after it was paid for.
Good stuff though.

Jesus, this is brilliant. He even had guys working undercover at the barbernet cafe.
Best part was the 'powerbook' though, especially the x-ed out windows key, and the 'this is real' written on the inside binding.
P-P-P-POWERBOOK!!!

This was an 80+ page thread over at SA and it ruled.
For the record, in case that page doesn't say so, the ending for now is that someone heard the guy open the box at the barbershop, the barber asked the scammer what's wrong, and he said "it is broken". Oh, and then the scammer sent obvious virus emails to the guy who sent him the powerbook.

Hah hah, I'm so happy that dude lost out on so much money. Did it ever say how much he had to pay in taxes?

Hmmm, woldnt it be fun to get a powerbook box, ship it to some one in Europe, and put the value at $3000. Only instead of a powerbook, make a notebook like this guy did.

Wait, people keep saying cliffhanger. I read the HTML version when it was still up and it went up to about early mid-may or so. where did it end for you guys?
It had enough closure for me; the scammer blew money, got pissed off and tried to send the guy viruses.

The vesion I read only got as far as the Powerbook being delivered, the guy still hadn't recieved it. Do you have a link for the one you read? I checked every file available on Grave's link, and they all end in the same place.

Okay, unfortunatly the one I read is one of the links that dont work anymore, they might have just shut down for a few days because I just read it like last week.

Damn, that sucks. Was it one of the sites on Grave's list? If so, which one? That way I can check to see if it goes back up.

Actually, being a euporean, the guy didn't pay much besause the US dollar is worthless compared to the euro or GBP. The value should have been listed as 3000 pounds sterling.

1 GBP = 1.83299 USD

3000 GBP = 5,499.32 USD
3000 EUR = 3,673.80 USD
HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY MORE IF THE VALUE WAS DECLARED AT 3000 GBP OR 3000 EUR THAN IF IT WAS 3000 USD!!!
THAT IS WHAT I WAS SAYING, THAT AND THE FACT THAT MOST COUNTRIES IN EUROPE HAVE A HIGHER GNP THAN THE US!
And BigNick, what is wrong with those numbers? Do you beleive that the US dollar, which has NOTHING to back it up*, should be worth more than the Pound Sterling which has silver to back it up?
*if the amount of gold in fort knox is not declared and nobody can touch it, so the gold might as wel not exist, which may already be the case.

Jsweeney was right, i'm not sure what I was thinking. the euro and pound are stronger than the usd. Quackzilla, you are an official retard. There is no gold to back it up. Where do you get this shit from?

If there was gold to back it up you would be able to exchange your paper money for gold, because that is how the system works, the money = gold. But that is not the case.
On top of that, the Bush administration keeps making new money, but are they putting more gold in fort Knox? NO!
We have the same money system as postwar Germany.
