Marvel Nemesis just dropped to $20....so being a marvel fan I decided to ignore the so-so scores it received and the fact that its EA. I'm absolutely loving this game.
NOTE: The one thing to be said if you are looking for a very deep fighting system and involved game you won't find it here. HOWEVER...if you are looking for a fun game its worth $20. Why?
The overall look of the game is really dark. It's a cool take on the Marvel characters. If you're a fan of Marvel in general you'll love the way each character is portrayed.
The fighting system isn't too involved however each character's moves fit the character so well. There is something really satisfying about webbing a piece of furniture pulling it towards you and then throwing it at your opponent as Spider-Man. Daredevil is able to throw his billy club as well as swing in the air with it. It's great to hear the sound of Wolverine's claws hacking away.
The story mode has you playing as a host of different characters each with there own unique powers. Now the story mode levels are super short little beat em up sections but there fun because of the ways you dispose of your enemies. The level design is really extremely small but everything looks pretty gritty and intresting.
I think this game does draw some comparisons to Power Stone but with Marvel characters. I made the mistake of grabbing the Cube version which lacks online but I am actually considering getting the PS2 version now to play online. From what I've read the online is lag-free. I'd love to hear people's opinions on it.
So overall no its not a deep game but if you go in taking it for what its worth its a lot of fun.
