i think it was on the DS forums but like...lithium batteries or whatever...someone said it's either better to let the battery drain all the way down before recharging it...is that true? i heard that it's bad to recharge your psp/ds if it has only lost a little "juice"...
also, i JUST GOT MY PSP!! :D
should i charge it all the way up before playing? or how does this work, haha... thanks :D
i just don't want to hurt the battery life of my psp..thanks

so it's the opposite? recharge often and don't let the battery drain all the way down is the way to go, correct?

It's called power cycling...and all batteries benefit from it last time I checked.
There is the same concern with the orginal GBASP on what to. But by the time your battery has any major problem, you will be playing a new system or getting a new battery anyway. So just do what ever you want.

Nicads needed it..
From what I can tell NIMH and Lithium both benefit from it.
Li Polimer I am not sure of as its not been in many applications yet.

Here's how it goes, The batteries that are in use now in most devices DO NOT need to be full charged or discharged to prevent battery memory or performance problems. You CAN charge when ever you want so if you charge it for 10mins and have to go,fine take it off the charger and leave. If you leave it charge for days, thats fine too. The old school batteries suffered from battery memory whcih cause the battery to only charge to the point at which the last discharge was. So you had to fully charge and discharge for the best performance.

The PSP manual states that the more you charge the battery (frequency-wise), it will hold a charge for less and less time. This is true of all batteries, but if the goal is to charge the battery less often so it will last longer, wouldn't you want to try to wait until the batteries are almost dead to get the most out of each charge?
On a side note, what idiot designer decided to put the battery indicator light right where my right thumb sits while playing?
