Once upon a time (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78329), I was good at Robotron 2084. I upped that score with a 611k total. And then the bottom fell out. I haven't been able to come close to it since. Tops out at 450k (or worse) every time. Adding insult to injury, I've been bumped off the top ten. :cold:

Which made me wonder what games you used to be good at. Something you could destroy playing with your feet around your head while blindfolded, that the best cheat codes can't help you with now.

Fess up. Misery loves compnay.

I agree, I would rock people all day in fighting games, now I'm a nub who seems to be better on the left side, than the right side. You're just getting old like the rest of us, and cars, jobs, pussy and good eats takes up alot of prime game time. You're out of practice, just concider it growing up. Trust me, I know people who are 30 and still rock at games, you dont want to be them.

Paying for the ladies using prize money doesn't count.

Me too. Check out the "storm the house" top 1 player. Me. Since then, I cant seem to come close to that score anymore.

I used to demolish shooters...now I find my self going into the options and cranking the continues up more often. I blame it on games becoming less twitch, used to be where you had to be hopped up on speed to beat them. I am also getting bad with fighters too since most went to 3D, except for Soul Caliber where I can hold my own with Mitsurugi. I remember it being a blast when I finnaly learned how to whoop people with Jubei. But now I hate it how it seems like everyone went to almost MK type moves, I just wish everyone would go back to the simple quarter and half circles. It sucks getting my ass kicked by button mashers.

I used to be able to play the original Gauntlet in the arcade indefinitely on one quarter. I would actually gain health as the game went on. My record was over 8 hours on one quarter before the Pizza place had to close and they kicked me out. Then they banned me from playing altogether, cos I'd just hog up the machine all day and it wouldnt make any money.

Now I suck at games, at least the old school ones.

I look at it this way. When I was a kid, I could only afford to get one game every month or two, so it had to last, so I got good at it and beat it over and over. I beat those games out of neccessity!

Now I can afford lots of games, so when I get tired of game stomping me over and over, I can just move onto another one.

Back in the day I had 10 games and I beat 10 games. Now I have 100 games and I beat 10 games. =p

Me, I find games are actually easier. Games like Berzerk or Missile Command that used to challenge me when I was young.... no longer do. I just go on & on until I get bored.

I'm sure as I approach my 40's though & reflexes slow down, that will change.
