I have SBC! Yahoo DSL and I will be getting a Xbox 360 soon. I need a good multi-port DSL Modem/Router to use for my setup so that I can connect to the internet on my PC and get on Xbox Live.
Any suggestions will be helpful because most of what I have found through SBC isn't helpful because it deals with Wireless Networking (I don't have wireless internet) and I am trying to keep this as cheap as possible.

I've got a Zoom dsl modem/router. Works a helluva lot better than those damn sprint modems. Been using it for a year and still works beautifully. Before that I'd have to call up sprint every 3 months and get a new modem.

Whatever router you get make sure you don't get a Dlink. D-Link routers always screw up and will disconnect your internet connection all the time, I've seen multiple people have this problem. I've had my Belkin router for a long time and it's worked perfectly, highly recommended.

I am looking for one because my family likes to go online. Our computer and all of my gaming equipment are in the same room so I want to be able to go on Xbox Live and still be able to let them go online to do what they do at the same time.

Westell in general makes good DSL modems.

D Link worked fine for me over 3 years. Not once it disconnected me. For me, D Link works just as great as linksys.

While D-Link wouldn't be my first recommendation, I've been using my DI-604 router for a few years with no problems

Ive known of at least 3 cases of DI-604 routers just being horrible, including my own, so I guess maybe it's not as common as it seems.

I have a DI-604 and its a piece of shit. I only connect it when I'm transfering files because after a while (like <6 hours) it disconnects and then I have to power it off and on again to get it to work.

Yeah, I guess the lucky ones are the few who get DI-604's that are actually reliable, cause all the one's I've seen are total shit!

My DI-604 was rock solid for years, then after a firmware update, it seems to reboot a few times a day. Gets annoying when you're on XBL. I've got a wireless router here, but its not good either.

Yeah that's the biggest problem I've seen with 'em constantly cutting the internet, or restarting. They seem to be nothing but a pain in the ass.

Bad experiences with Dlink here - nothing but good news with Netgear though.
Oddly enough, my linksys router does the same (it often discconects me from the intenret and I would have to basically reset the connection and restart the router). People seem to tell me that D-link works better than linksys
Linksys also had a buggy browser interface that still wasn't fixed for my router.
But I had an old linksys router (i bought it around late 2004 when they first merged with Cisco i think) - I think pretty much all the new router should work perfectly now with cable and dsl.
