I'm thinking about buying a Tales of Legendia memory card that is only produced by Hori in Japan. Will non-US memory cards work for my PS2? I don't mod stuff and play imports so I wouldn't know the least.

I was told that for GCN, as long as you keep one type of game (US, Japan, or Euro) on it, it'll be fine. Is that true, and is that how PS2 mem cards work too?

I use my US memory cards on a Japanese PS2 so I think a Japanese memory card would work on a US PS2.

I don't know about Gamecube but I keep both Japanese and US saves on the same PS2 memory card without a problem. The only thing I don't do to be safe is I don't keep the same saves of the same games from different regions on the same card. Like I don't keep my US version of DDR Max saves on the same card as the Japanese version of my DDR Max saves (since I own both the US and Japanese versions of DDR Max since other than the name of the game, they are basically completely different games but use the same game engine)

I've saved PAL and Japanese games on my US card, so I would assume they're universal.

I have both japanese and english saves on the US GC memory card and it's been fine.
