EB's markups to match GameStop's system

Have you guys seen this? It's friggin' insane.

New copies of Winback on PS2 are $49.99. Used is $6.99. The Thing, new copies, are $24.99. Preowned is $4.99 or $5.99. ESPN MLS Extra Time is $5.99 preowned, and new copies are now $24.99.

Is this nationwide or just my local one? It's gotta be someone at the GameStop home office having fun in their last days or something, but this is CRAZY.

I heard that a lot of new GBA games (new copies of old games) went back up to $34.99 and more games are going up as the days go by. Gamestop has a bad habit of overpricing new copies of games. Check out NHL 2K2 new on Dreamcast.. eh well nm, it's gone now but it was on gamestop.com for $54.99.

There you go, prime example. Prices are almost reflecting that. I'm guessing just new copies of older games are just going to stay full price or something. Ridiculous.

they've been overpricing alot of DS games as well... games that usually ring up everywhere else for $30 is usually $35...

i'm just happy gamestop is picking up EB games' pre-order system.

I work at a EB, and I was doing some price changes this week, and these are some markups that didn't make any sense

FEAR PC $49.99 ---> $29.99 ---> $59.99 (keep in mind this is not the directors cut)

Nintendogs all versions $29.99 ---> $34.99

PSP Hori Screen Protectors - $4.99 ---> $9.99

Gamecube Mem Cards 251 - $19.99 ---> $24.99
1019 Mem Cards - $29.99 ---> $34.99

Winback PS2 --- $12.99 ---> $49.99

those are the only ones I can remember, but there was a huge list of them. I don't know what is going on. There were a few good markdowns such as Resident Evil 4 GC going to $19.99, and Star Wars Battlefront II XB/PS2 went down to $19.99, but I think it will end up getting mark back up to $49.99 by the time anyone even reads this.

Yeah, I heard about that FEAR markup. This is crazy.. it's got to be an error or something. It HAS to be.

And that Winback is seriously gigantic WTF worthy.

Oh and SW:BF2 is already back up to $49.99.. or if it rings up $19.99, the person checking out should override it to $49.99.

I've been waiting to get Capcom Fighting Evolution PS2 for cheap...as I like to collect fighting games even though that game isn't as hot.

I figured it was due for a possible price drop soon...and lo and behold I got to EB's site just to check and it went up to $29.99 from $24.99. Xbox is still $19.99 though. It's weird stuff.
