Hey,

I'm one cheapass gamer, looking to save some bucks. I have a plantronics dsp-300
USB headset from about 3 to 4 years ago.

Anyone know if pc usb headsets work on ps2? Is there any danger to plug it in and try it out? Link you a compatibility list?

Since the official headset is plug and play in windows, I'm wondering if it will go both ways.

Thanks, and stay cheap everone

The PS2 operating system would need a driver for whatever headset you're using. At least to the best of my knowledge. No harm can come from trying it though. Maybe take out your memoery card in case something freaks the card gets formatted or corrupted.

That's actually some pretty good advice. Wish I had thought of that before I went ahead and tried it...

But, it did work, and how! Works perfectly with LifeLine(voice action adventure) for PS2. Didn't corrupt my MC or anything.

Let's use this thread to start list of peoples experience with USB headsets.

Please list the brand, model, and game tested with, along with your results.

Pretty much all USB headsets work with the PS2. I have a logitech USB headset, use it to play Killzone.

Plantronics
DSP-300 USB Headset
PS2 Game: Lifeline.

Works fine. Game demanded I insert a usb device to continue.
Plugged in DSP-300 and game continued to title screen.
Received several "unbelievable!" recognition scores in tutorial.
Works fine in-game.
