Katamari Damacy... but I doubt we'll ever see it. It would be so perfect for the stylus, too.
Other than that, maybe some old Lucasarts point-and-click games, although I think Maniac Mansion was the only one released to Nintendo.
Some more old school RPGs would be nice too.

A new awesome single-player Zelda game, not a four swords game. I want an epic quest on the go!
A good casino game, better yet a Nintendo brand casino game with Super Mario Slots, and all other games with Nintendo themes.
A new Warioware, Touched was a little bit on the boring side.

Great suggestions so far! I've gotta double-up on some of 'em:
-- More Phoenix Wright
-- An original Zelda ala Minnish Cap
-- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles w/ WFC capability (it's coming, I know it!)
-- Broken Sword and any other great graphical adventures
-- A Trace Memory game that doesn't suck
-- Pikmin

Katamari Damacy... but I doubt we'll ever see it. It would be so perfect for the stylus, too.
I don't get why people keep saying this...I think it would be quite bad with a stylus. Either you simply tap where you want to go (like in Animal Crossing DS), or you constantly "rub" the katamari in the direction you want it to roll. The first case would be too boring; the second would get tiriing and tedious after a level or two.
Resident Evil 2
Couldn't agree more. Why not remake one of the best games in the series, instead of the original we've seen remade 50 times?

The possibilities for the DS are staggering. Whole new genres can be created.
I would like to see the original Half Life brought over to the DS.
FFVII would be OK by me as well.
I am really stoked about Resident Evil DS - but I am hesitant at the same time because the screenshots I have seen really look gritty as hell - like PSOne or even Saturn gritty! Its all about gameplay and ambience but still the screenshots look questionable IMHO. Is the game fully 3D or is it Prerendered?
Zelda OOT and MM would be nice.
So many games - so little time....

I doubt squaresoft would be porting FFVII over to the DS, as compressing 3 cds worth of data into a DS cartridge is kinda impossible. As for remaking, I really doubt Squaresoft would do such a thing, maybe on the PS3. Half Life is another thing I doubt will happen. Unreal Tournament? o_O. Then again im thinking ports, It would have to be a total remake. Whats the processor speed on the DS like, 88mHz? Most of the titles people are listing would either have to me a complete remake, or a new game in general. The DS hardware is kinda limiting though.
Zelda 64 OoT, StarFox and Megaman 64, now those are games I would like to see happen. The DS hardware and can handle games like those, and I hope to see them released on the DS.

battle chess
i made this awhile ago on a old thread of the same nature
and the word for word copy from two posts...
so today i had a great idea for a ds game that would be fun and educational... BATTLE CHESS! think about it, control the chess board and move pieces with the stylus or dpad on the bottom screen, and see the battles on the top screen. throw in multiplayer mode and you have yourself the funnest chess game in over a decade. see, doesnt this picture make you want it!
i just thought about my sweet battle chess game and i realized that you could make it rpg style and have the player gain xp through beating friends or the computer, then they could upgrade their pieces, for different looks and battles and stuff, not to make them strong since you cant in chess. but that would give even more insentive to get the sweet chess pieces and stuff... yeah... im going to make this game myself if i have to
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/9443/image100kh.th.jpg (http://img87.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image100kh.jpg)

Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy all would be better on Gameboy Advance with a single screen in my opinion.
I would be interested in knowing how Blast Corps and Pilot Wings 64 carry over to the touch screen. Pokemon Snap might be neat with the touch screen too. Tetris Attack would be really nice with wireless, otherwise puzzle league on GBA is good enough for me.

Or what about different finishing moves? That was always the cool thing when battle chess was new. instead of outifts or whatever you could get some kind of alternate moves... maybe even press a button during the fight to initiate a particular move! It would take a small bit of the boring out of it.
Also one of my old time favorites was archon. That for the DS would be cool.

I don't understand why anyone would want some of these games on DS with the 2 screens. What benefit does it provide? The 2 screens and extra bulk imo are a distraction for traditional games a la Mario, Metroid, Earthbound, Final Fantasy, etc.
There are some games where perhaps this would be beneficial. Like maybe Pikmin DS, but a side scrolling MetroidVania type game?
I say bring on a new Game Boy system. A little more powerful, better screen, 4 face buttons, and 2 should buttons.
Anyway, I would like Super Metroid (on GBA, but DS is better than nothing). With the slightly updated graphics like Super Mario World had on the GBA and having it portable would make it totally worth a re-buy (since I own it on SNES).

Paper Mario DS (a new game, not a remake), another new 2D Mario Platformer (Super Mario World 3? New Super Mario Bros. 2?), new 2D Kirby game w/ full 2-player download play, Kirby's Dream Course 2 w/ full 4 player download-play, Elite Beat Agents 2 (please!), etc, etc.
Generally speaking, I want to see more games that feature full 2 or more player download-play, using the same approach as Mario Party DS (which works great.) No more mini-game only download-play. If that isn't technically possible, then sell multipacks which include one full copy of the game that can be played standalone, along with 1 or more "multi-card play" cartridges that can't be played standalone, but can be used for full multi-card play when connected to the full copy. I.e. they contain the full game, but are neutered such that they can't be played stand-alone. Obviously for a much lower price than buying multiple full copies of the game.

I dunno. DS doesn't have any great fighting games. Sure there was Bleach and the import Jump Ultimate stars, but remember Guilty Gear? That stuff was just plain horrible. Maybe Capcom is just sticking to the safe bets like their 100+ Megamans or maybe they're just focused on the next-gen stuff. Either way, Street Fighter is pretty old, it'd be like kicking a dead horse if they re-re-released another one of those. And I doubt there'll be a port of SF4 to DS.

No, it isn't. But it enhances the game. You made it sound like that specific game couldn't have been enhanced by a second screen, when clearly it is.

No, it isn't. But it enhances the game. You made it sound like that specific game couldn't have been enhanced by a second screen, when clearly it is.
Strictly speaking, it is not required, but then, most things aren't.
I much prefer conventional games and game play. I like the 4 face buttons and shoulder triggers, but don't really enjoy the extra screen and touch. I don't feel it's needed that is all. I like my Game Boy (micro) much more so.
It enhances the game in a way, but it's not something I care either way about.

And the second DS Castlevania didn't use the touchscreen (unless you count the extra modes, which is kind of a stretch).
You're just making that argument where you draw this conclusion that's based on something that isn't really true, and instead is relying on a sort of pseudo-logic rooted in what-ifs and hypotheticals. "What if the next Castlevania is nothing but touch screen play" and so on.
The DS offers more choices for input. It doesn't require all of them to be used. And yes - certain games work much better with only buttons, some work well with a combination, and some work well with only touchscreen.
Don't sit there and pretend that having those additional options somehow destroys and voids conventional input. That's just silly.
But by now you should have realized you've moved from the two screens argument to the "multiple inputs" argument, so now we're on completely new ground since you are changing your position.

I have to agree with Strell. Play Portrait of Ruin, and then try to go back and play Circle of the Moon, and you'll just be irritated by how often you're pausing to look at the map.

I'd like to see Mario Baseball and a new Kirby Canvas Curse.
Also a Donkey Kong Country or DK climber.
Maybe a Nights game or something that uses the stylus well.
I'm always up for a new Zelda and 2d Metroid.

Yep, it sucked for the first year as developers were trying to use the touch screen, microphone etc. rather than just making good games and using them as needed.
That's not the case any more for the most part. There's stuff like Zelda which I'd have enjoyed much more if it had traditional controls, but there's also stuff like the last castlevania which didn't use it at all, New SMB which barely used it etc.
Two screens, ignoring the input part also have their uses. For instance, having the map constantly displayed in Castlevania was a god send. I don't like when games get split across it though...like the Yoshi's Island sequel. But it has it's uses for sure.
