You can now use emulators on 2.0 and other firmwares. www.fanjita.org

Thanks. I'm looking at finally picking it up. I'll have to use the WAB changer though to go back to 1.5 and then upgrade to 2.0. The SNES and NES emulators work on 2.0, right? That's all the homebrew I care about...

WAB version changer doesn't work for GTA. I was a bit skeptical about upgrading to version 2.0 so I could play GTA, but I am really glad I did. If you click the link on the left hand side of fanjita - Working EBOOTs (v2.0) - it will show you all the homebrew programs that work with the EBOOT loader and links to download them. Now I can play homebrew and 2.0 games without having to downgrade.

I know - I have to use the WAB changer to go back to 1.5 before upgrading to 2.0 (not using the WAB changer). From Fanjita's site it looks like I can use the 2.0 eboot loader to play SNES and NES emulators. I'm assuming I will be able to play GTA as well (since I will then have a real 2.0 PSP), If I ever want to downgrade back to 1.5 I think there is a way to do it...

Yes, there is a way. The only reason to downgrade back to 1.5 would be to have access to all homebrew. 2.0 eboot loader has most of the main homebrew and NES and SNES work.
