According to this kotaku article, the DS Lite is scheduled for a US release in Mid-May, though there's no word on price.
Also, they're coming out with a Pearl Pink GBA SP, and additionally, they're going to release a series of Players Choice GBA games at a 19.99 price point...Yay!

Well I was hoping I wasn't going to spend that money on the Lite so soon but I won't be able to resist it. It'll be a good day for my younger bro too, he'll be getting my current DS.

May...just in time for E3...DAMN YOU NINTENDO!
Could someone do me a favor and find out how much Game Crazy pays for a DS? If its enough, like...90-100, I'd consider trading mine in. They do pay a lot more than most places, right?

May? Aw, I wanted it sooner. Hmmm, time to look at some importing options. Would a Japanese DS work exactly the same as a US one? Aren't the ac adapters different over there?

Used DS sell for $99...At most you will get $60, depending how many they have in-stock.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I bought an imported pearl blue SP before Nintendo brought that color over and I haven't had any problems charging it. A friend of mine with a U.S. SP also used the charger with no problems.

I'm super psyched for the DS redesign and I think I'll actually buy it as well. That way I'll have both, an original and a Lite. Also, the prospect of a Player's Choice for GBA is simply mouth watering. I have been hoping for such a thing for a very long time. I know I even created a thread about it on CAG before. Super Mario 2 would be great to own, since I already had it before but can't seem to find it anywhere.

Revolution games presented. More info on a flood of DS games ranging from 'hopefully' Zelda 4 swords, Final Fantast CC, New Mario Bros., children of Mana, et al. E3 is going to be something i'm going to be following really close. Especially the reactions to the PS3 from normal people who've played it. Plus some play tests from Microsoft to Combat the Sony Juggernaut. This E3 is going to be intense.
But with 'hopefully' Zelda out or near out at that point and some more great ds games i'll probably be busy.

I imported a graphite ds and it works exactly the same. AC adapters are the same.

Awesome news! Yoshi's Island is the only Super Mario Advance title I don't own. I've been waiting to come across a copy at $20 or less for a while now.

And you live in Portland? Many of the Targets around here had Yoshi's Island on clearance a few months back. I held off at $21, and again at $15 or so, then they all disappeared one day (they got rid of all their clearance stuff at once). But they were around for a long time...

I imported a graphite ds and it works exactly the same. AC adapters are the same.I concur. But the Euro versions are different, in case you are thinking of importing something from there. But even then, that just means you have to spend $5 on a charger.

Oddly enough, I had the worst luck with Target clearances last year. I shop at Target at least twice a month and I never find anything besides overpriced sports games from 1-2 years ago and PC games I have no interest in.

i wish the players choice games were 14.99 ... i mean they are portanable games, lots of nintendo fans throw a fit when a game is over 30 bucks (it annoys me too). i mean 10 bucks isnt that much of a discount when you figure that gamecube games like zelda and mario sunshine and all the others are getting a 30 dollar discount from 50 to 20. ah well.

I've been on the GBA player's choice bandwagon for a while, too. With the system continuing to sell so well and such a large installed user base, the PC titles are guaranteed to be a hit. Should be way more successful than the NES classics.

Aren't the GBA carts way more expensive to produce than discs? I thought that was what kept GBA game prices up and why Nintendo never wanted to do a GBA Player's Choice along with the fact that without any competition, they could do whatever they wanted to.
Makes you wonder if they'll eventually do DS Player's Choice...

That $20 price tag for the PC GBA games is not that attractive... I mean, a regular GBA game costs $30 and with it becoming a PC title, it only drops to $20- the same as the console PC titles. Shouldn't it be lower, like $15? I guess that wouldn't make much sense making it that cheap.

DS cards are cheaper to produce than GBA carts. I also heard somewhere that most DS cards are slightly more expensive than DVDs.

Someone tell me "Graphite DS Lite in the United States" so I can be happy. I refuse to import -- that initial warrenty is important for new hardware.

Hmm, not until mid-May. I was hoping for a little earlier since I returned my original DS after hearing the news about the DS Lite, but I guess I can survive 3 months without it. PC for GBA games should have been done a long time ago, $30 for ports of old games that game out a long time ago is way too much.
