Mrs. Cheapy and I were hanging out in Shibuya and we decided to go for a little snack at McDonalds. I was finally able to sample the Filet-O-Shrimp (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75849) as it happened to make a suprise comback. It was quite tasty, but then again, you could deep-fry a sock and I would probably enjoy it.
Anyway, at McDonalds we spotted these Yamamba (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamanba) just hanging out. As you can see, these girls are hardcore and were not cute at all.

Soon after I took this picture, several of their Yamamba friends showed up (including a few guys). I would have loved to get their picture, but I lost my nerve.

Ahh ganguro, the Japanese impression of valley girl mixed with the 80's. Just about one of the weirdest trends in fashion over there.

Ack... what are the odds that the day I read this thread, 20/20 is doing a story in Japan about manners, and they interview one of those chicks?

I had no idea what you were talking about until Daphatty posted...
Makeup of Darkness +1, Cursed Tanning Salon Pass, Cigarettes of Foggy Stink, etc...

Wow thats a really nice picture. I like that better than the "clear" one. Small artsy touch to it and it looks like you did it on purpose. Too bad you have no talent at all or you might get to be honorary site owner for/since the beginning of time :booty:

Lol - the one on the left is definitely the warrior. The one on the right is a mage. Her teacher of the Dark Arts recently commented on the excellence of her make up application skills, which is a high compliment in her line of work, so they went out to celebrate.

Don't they only dress crazy on sundays? I heard that in something I saw about Japan. It might of been here not sure though.

I don't think Ganguro are as bad as Yamamba. Those called Yamamba definitely have the whole look going on MUCH more pronounced.
I actually saw a pic of a Ganguro whose look was fairly minimal and she looked kinda cute frankly.
Thats the Mcdonald's in Shibuya center street. If any CAGS visit Tokyo in the future, go to Shibuya on the Yamanote line and get off of Hachiko exit (the famous exit with the dog statue). The street blends on the left of that starbucks in Tetsuya Bookstore (which has the massive plasma TV on building)

Couple of thoughts:
1. CheapyD said those chicks were ugly but I've seen worse in Oakland.
2. I find it amusing that word "Yamamba" is very similar to "Yo Mama"
3. No one has said in this thread "I'll stick it in her pooper" yet.

I've seen worse living in SoCal as long as I have. Trust me, it could get uglier.
