I don't think this has been mentioned before but Atlus is releasing a new RPG called Metal Saga (http://www.success-corp.co.jp/software/ps2/metalsaga/index2.html). People have said it's a mix of Fallout and Xenogears. This was also from the JPN series "Metal Max" which is said to have gone back to the NES days. Here's a link from an interview with some people from Atlus USA and someone w/the preview build.

RPG Gamer Interview (http://www.rpgamer.com/games/metal/metalsaga/metalsagainterview.html)

This is supposedly coming out 3-28-6 and is priced at around $49.99-$54.99. I don't think there's a special edition like Magna Carta or DDS, so I don't know why some have it at $54.

Any thoughts? It looks interesting and has an interesting concept. There's also dogs w/rocket launchers.

It's Atlus, what's not to buy? I have a complete collection of their stuff.

I just don't want any other Japanese localizers to go the way of Working Designs so I do what I can.

I don't know why, but I always like Atlus published games... they're always something different. Looking for to this game.:)

the only reason this game is getting a release because people complain on the message board. Too bad brekwin saga never got that kind of attention.

62t - I never heard of brekwin...what kind of game is that?

Since the game comes out in March, I pre-ordered it w/my VG store. Hopefully they'll release in-game trailers soon, so I'll be able to see if I really want it now or wait down the road.

He's probably talking about Berwick Saga, essentially the same type of game as Fire Emblem, just not FE...

As far as Metal Saga goes, I like that Atlus listened to its fans and I'm repaying them by purchasing the game. It looks like it'll be fun...

It looks like crappy for even a PS2 game. Interesting concept though.

Go Go Hypergrind, Super Army Wars, Eggs of Steal, etc... :)

Okay, any Atlus game that IS an RPG.

I admit, I have none of those.

The developer of the game is more important then the publisher.

Metal Saga developer: http://www.crea-tech.net

Their game catalog: http://www.crea-tech.net/GAMES/games_catalog.html

I was not impressed with Magna Carta, Stella Deus, Samurai Western, or Riviera of their more recent releases.

I do like Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga. Disgaea was great, but was developed by NIS, which seems to publish their own games now.

Mastiff published La Pucelle Tactics and after that I believe NIS started publishing their own titles.

Yep, but Atlus is still their distributor...
