WLAN and other new psp questions

Uhhh i just got my my psp... and i was trying to connect to the internet... so anyways.. i dont have a wireless router.. but i managed to "scan" and find all my neighbors connections... however none of them dont have some type of "Security" so anyways i was wondering if it was at all possible to get past the security to use there internet....

I have dsl and i wouldnt mind going wireless only i dont feel like re routing my internet... as of right now i have a netgear hardwire router, and it works good... and i dont feel like tweaking with it... is there any kind of a router, or anytype of thing that i can hook on say in my room to put out a WLAN connection? i already have two hardlines to my room, so i could use the second one.. if anything like this even exists.. all help would be greatly appriciated...

Also i was looking around in settings, and i noticed it is a version 2.6.. is that good? or does it need to be updated? thanks let me know

2.6 is the latest update. Most routers now have built in wired routing, so it should be no biggy. I just got my wireless at home a week ago and can say it makes me very happy, though I haven't used it for PSP at all yet, just DS and laptop...

The security in your neighbors is not easy to crack, but I don't reccomend doing it due to legal and or priacy issues... I say jsut go through the hassil of a wireless router. In other words, don't be lazy and get some elbow grease.

yep... probably a wireless adaptor or just a regular wireless router (go from router to router)... shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I need to know, becuse there are some really cheap ones that if i can just use on the end of one of my cables (1 port of my router) that would be perfect... let me know thanks

update....

i found some cheap wireless routers, and give that they do "Work" would i need a wireless computer as well to set up the router? or if i plug it in will my psp work? because as of now none of my computers are wireless ready.. cept the psp

i am no expert, jsut trying to help...

um... the wireless is alot like a regular where you have to set it up via computer. You don't need a wireless computer to set it up since wirelss routers need to be wired somewhere in order to receive data (unless from another wirelss router)... personally, if I were you go to a B&M storea and ask questions... check sunday adds also for good router prices.

Okay i found the answer so i am going to tell everyone in case anyone else is wondering...

You have add something like up to 240 routers on your network before yourun out of ip's if you dont have a wireless router you can just get a wireless access point which is what i was wondering if they made (they do) you need to make sure it is for 804.11b or g (psp's take b) but g is backward compatible.. i hope this helped some people it sure helped me.. oviously lol
