So you get a free $10 gift card with purchase? It doesn't show that on their website. Any linkage? That might be the best deal.

The ad(s) won't be valid till the game comes out next week. If you want it verified your going to have to wait for sunday and look at the ads.

He had to find out about the deal somehow so I thought it was safe to assume the info was available.

Yes, I was. If you would have bothered to check in the video games deal forum, you could have seen the ad thread that is available usually by about wednesday for the next sunday.

CompUSA will sell it for $39.99 - so none of the gift card nonsense.
I am pretty sure Circuit City will sell it for the same price.
HOWEVER - There is a coupon for Best Buy that's 10% off any video game or PC software that's good till March. So, use the coupon to bring the game down to $45 AND get the $10 gift card. The coupon should work since the launch bonus doesn't directly affect the price of the game (worried about the "not good in combination w/ any other coupon or offer" line).

While I thought the demo was ok, I can't help but be a bit weary about this game. :(
Back on topic, looks like I may be trying CompUSA.

Yeah, I just finished the demo and it was awfully "meh". They didn't show me enough to warrant spending $40.

Keep in mind the Demo was from an early December build - there have been a lot of changes since. The first review gave it a 8.5, which is respectable.

Excuse me, I started this thread before that thread came out. This is the right forum for requesting deals on games.

I enjoyed the demo. But then again I enjoyed Star Wars Rebellion and that got awful reviews.
What magazine or site gave it an 8.5? Any link to the review?
Thanks.

Here's the scan of the review from Game Informer.

Pretty positive review - main complaints are w/ the pathfinding and opponent AI. Both of which can be addressed in a patch.
...
At least, I hope so.

Thanks for the image. Hopefully they will patch those issues. Lucasarts usually has games with 0-2 patches. Hopefully we'll get more than 0 for this game if those are problem areas.

In my opinion this game is considered by me to be an "unoffical" sequel to Rebellion. I would not be suprised if someone mods this to act like Rebellion sometime down the road..

Agreed. I think it's in a way a 70% rebellion and 30% Galactic Civilizations. I think they are trying to combine the two.

it would be nice to see an imperial construction yard actually "Building" the star destoryer, much like what you saw in Star Trek:Armada series.

Compusa is selling the standard edition of the game for $39, from 2/16 to 2/18 (at least). The price is up on their website.
I'm going to try buying there and also try to use the BestBuy 5% coupon to see if they'll take that.

IGN gave it a 7.6 and a pretty bad review. Said it did a good job on presentation but the gameplay was bad.
I think this might be a wait til it gets cheap game unfortunately.
