View Full Version : The 209 CAG's Thread

Rather than create a Central Cali thread I decided to narrow it down to just those in the 209 area code because the area is so stretched out and nearly impossible to get to. With all the tiny little towns with populations 20k and under it's just easier to do it this way, so if there's anyone else representin' the 209 area code go ahead and post here where you're from.
I live in Los Banos. (translation: The Springs for all you jerks out there)

Representing! :)
I'm in Merced (formerly LB). With the way this area stretches out between LB, Merced, Turlock, Modesto, etc... I'm sure there are other CAG's out there among us.

Or call this the 209/559 thread since 559 used to be a part of 209.

I might have to jump on Trace Memory at that price. I own Meteos already, but I could probably sell it and make a buck or two on it.

They had 3 or 4 copies of it. The game they have the most of was NFL Street 2 (8-10 copies). They also have a copy or two of Backyard Wrestling for the XBox, but didn't check the price on it (it was clearance, tho).

Meteos was in the display case. The other titles were on a back endcap between Electronics & the entrance to the Garden Center. They had put some on the one shelf that is there then the rest they put on the very bottom shelf towards the back. I had to duck down to see the stuff, otherwise you'd probably miss the stuff just walking by. They had some other clearance stuff on there as well (iPod jackets, a digital camera and such).

That's funny I'm not from Merced and I know where the Target clearance games are. They're on the endcap where the PS2/PSP games are at and on occasion I've seen them on the endcap to the left of that one. (the left when you're standing facing the clearance stuff) There's also a big sign that says something about 'clearance' or 'budget' or something like that.

Just a heads up...TRU in Merced is now 40-60% off. Just came back from there. When I got there, they were finally putting all their DS titles out, although obviously they have more in the cage since I had a slip for one (Tony Hawk) and he had to run back and get it.
Here's what I picked up (all DS titles...prices are after the 40% off):
Feel the Magic: $5.99
Polarium: $5.99
Mario & Luigi: PIT $20.99
Kirby's Canvas Curse: $20.99
Tony Hawks' American Sk8land: $17.97
Think I'll run back tonight and see if any more is put out....

Actually my girl went over there and she got copies of (all DS games) Mario Kart x2, Sonic Rush, Advance Wars DS x2, Kirby Canvas Curse, Mario and Luigi Partners in Time x2, and three more that I can't even remember off the top of my head. Would've liked to have gotten Trace Memory, Lost in Blue, Trauma Center, and of course Phoenix Wright, but they had nary a one of those as far as she could see. I'm probably going to head out there myself on Thursday. By any chance do either of you know when they are closing for good? I thought they were going to be done by the end of this month and from the looks of it that's how it's going to be, but I might want to get out there one last time after this Thursday.

Just came back from there a little while ago (again) to see what was left. I do remember seeing a couple of copies of Trace Memory.
The story in the Sun Star said the "end of February". There's still a couple more DS titles I'd like to pick up, but am sort of hoping to see maybe 50 or 60% soon enough....

I went in to TRU today and bought a crapload of games, more of the same mostly, but I also got Tony Hawk (tons left still), Trace Memory a couple sets of Xbox 360 component cables, a strategy guidefor FFIV (70% off!) and Seinfeld season 5 and 6 sets. I did ask them when they were closing and they told me the 25th so you've got a few more days left to jump on stuff, what little there is left. They did still have copies of DK Jungle Beat which I'd love to have, but I've spent way too much there already.
On a side note I went to Target across the street and they had 2 premium Xbox 360's and one core system in stock.

I was in Target last night and saw the 2 premium 360's there, but didn't bite since there's just not enough on the system yet to justify the purchase (for me, anyway...and I'm one that's always bought consoles at launch).
I went in to TRU today (again) during my lunch hour (around 11am) just to see what was what. Didn't pick up anything....am still trying to hold out long enough for a larger drop. Surprised to see so many DS titles left....
The original price on DK Jungle Beat there is $53.99 or $58.99 (I forget which...)...but still can't justify 40% off that. Maybe on the next drop.... They also have Taiko Drum Master too, but could never get a price on it.
If they're closing on the 25th, I assume we'll see another price drop really soon (maybe Saturday?).

I hear you on the 360, I've seen it at several places now and even though I have money to buy one there's just no reason for me to buy one.
As a side note though you know that you can apply for credit and get 10% off the system at Target? However, I think (I haven't verified yet) that if you sign up for their online newsletter you get weekly codes for 10% off and it may be possible to stack those two 10% off deals making it a pretty nice discount.
Still, though it was my intention to get the system bundled up at Costco. Possibly with the little profit I make off selling those DS games I'll be that much closer to one. Have either of you seen the 360 in stock at Costco up there?

Target here is the first place I've seen them in-stock at all. Never seen any at Wal-Mart or Best Buy. Not sure about EB and Gamestop as of late, but last time I talked to one of the guys at EB (maybe a month ago or so), they still hadn't seen more than 2 or 3 very small shipments since the launch.
I already have a Target card, so there goes that idea. I have a feeling with PS3 and Rev coming, we'll see some kind of price drop by MS later this year.
As for Costco, I've never seen them there. I've seen individual games ($59.99 games are $53.99, IIRC), but no systems.
Someone in the TRU thread said that their store (back east, I believe) went to 50-70% off as of today and is closing the 25th also. I think I'll run over there and will report back....

That's pretty much what they had yesterday. Though they had a couple GC games that I was tempted to buy, but I thought that $50 with 40% off was a little too much. I should've bit on those and passed on the Seinfeld boxsets.

02-20-2006, 08:59 PM
Just ran over there again....seems like all that is about left is Psychonauts and Timesplitters for the XBox along with a few scant DS titles (Spiderman 2/Tony Hawk). They do have the Action Replay's for the GameCube. A couple were stickered $49.99 and a couple $29.99. Didn't really look it over to see what the difference was.
They also still had some 360 accessories (faceplates, component and a/v cables) @ 70% off. Other than that....it's picked clean.
Forgot to look over at the cage to see if anything was left over there... Only thing I picked up today was Psychonauts.

Nope.....unless you want an Action Replay for the GameCube or fixtures? They still have a bunch of those 3rd party DS & PSP "kits" @ 70% off. The cage was completely empty and they nearly had all of the front aisle shelves and gondolas taken down. It's now all at the very front of the store.

Was at Target (Merced) earlier tonight.....nothing too much worthwhile to mention, but I figure I'd post it anyway:
Polarium $14.98
Meteos $14.98
Trace Memory $14.98
Viewtiful Joe (PS2) $7.98
Polarium, Meteos and Trace Memory were in an odd spot. They actually put the DS clearance titles on a back endcap facing the large DVD wall. They were in with the clearance PC software.
Also, I've been looking to pick up Guitar Hero and keep hearing how Target has it for $59.99. Well tonight they had 2 copies, but they were selling them for $69.99.
See, nothing really exciting. :P

mj1108
03-18-2006, 10:11 PM
The Sears here in Merced doesn't carry video games, IIRC. Checking isn't any trouble since I'm a hop, skip and jump away from there.
If anyone is interested, Blockbuster/GameRush here has titles 50% off. The one at R & Olive next to the mall just has 2 crappy signs and little to display (their laziness, I assume)...while the one on G St. is actually organized and has all the 50% off stuff together. Now whether or not there are titles worth picking up is a matter of taste. Lots of titles were marked $19.99...so 50% off that would bring them down to $10 a shot.

Will do.... As for Phoenix Wright, I'm looking for it too and can't find it anywhere. Yesterday I went around checking....even checked GS and EB here and neither had it (not even used). So nobody here in Merced or Turlock has it. I was in Turlock Friday and stopped in at Target and WM there.....nothing.
I *may* be going to Fresno this evening, so I may try to sneak over to BB, Target, and CompUSA (since they're all next door to each other) there to see if they have any. Might as well if I'm over there anyway.

Didn't get to Fresno tonight after all. :( I'll be checking up on Target, EB and the usuals this week here to see if it shows up since it likely hit their DC's first before it hits the stores. Resurrecting this thread from the dead.....
Circuit City in Merced.... $8.98 titles. They haven't pulled them. The PS2 games are marked and it's a mish-mash for the other systems (some marked/some not). If you're interested, go on by. You just might find something. Picked up 2 copies of Advance Wars (1 for me and 1 for my brother) for $8.98 each (they were still marked $34.99) and they had 2 copies of Wario Ware Twisted marked $8.98. I took 1 up to the register and it rang up $19.99, but they gave it to me for $8.98. I went back today and it's still there.... Make a list of what you want from the main list and take that in there since some are marked and some aren't.
K-Mart clearance (from the main thread). The one in Atwater, don't even bother. I just got home from there and it's a certifiable dud. I guess that's what happens when it looks like they're actually organzied. ;)

Just went by CC again. I've been by there so many times in the last 4 or 5 days they probably think I'm casing the joint. hahaha... Anyway.... picked up the last Halo Triple Pack (that I could see) and also Dr. Mario/Puzzle League. There's still stuff left. I got there today and the GBA stuff looked like it was ransacked.... thought it was a CAG'er, when in fact it looks like it was probably just kids.
Went by Target and they have only 2 titles on clearance: 187 Ride or Die @ 9.98 and Tom Clancy Ghost Recon (I think that's what it was) for $14.XX.... 1 copy of each. Bleh.

I wonder what my chances would be if I went there on Friday or Saturday, to find anything good?
I would definitely get there by Saturday since the CC clearance is going to be advertised as starting on Sunday. So come Sunday afternoon, I wouldn't try it. (translation: the sooner you get over there, the better). I just might stop in there just to see what the selection looks like tomorrow...
On another note.... check out BB/GameRush @ Olive & R. They have an "ok" amount of clearance titles left. Some for each system. The titles are on an island rack that says "50% off" when in fact, it's a LOT more than 50% off. Last night I picked up 3 GCN titles (NBA Street v3 ($7.50) , Killer 7 ($3.75) & Metroid Prime Echoes ($5.00) (all new) for a total of $17 and change. The clearance prices are ranging from $3.75 to $7.50 per title and this isn't on used titles at all.
The islander thing they have the games on isn't the only place they have the clearance games. They have them in their respective "new" sections as well. Just look for the handwritten clearance tags. I went back over there this afternoon to see if it was already picked over and there's still stuff left.... people just don't realize how cheap the prices are. :) Oh well...their loss....more for us. :)
In case you didn't know, the Blockbuster/GameRush on G St. is history. They closed about a month or month and a half ago....so don't waste time going over there.
Also, after I picked those titles up last night from BB, I ran over to BB in Atwater to see if they had anything. A complete waste of a drive. No clearance stuff, no sign of it, piss-poor "new" section (one rack).... Thank god it's as close as it is.

And yet, it's a 40 minute drive for me. I would like a copy of NBA Street V3 though...decisions, decisions.
Just an update.... CC is basically picked over. They've taken the $8.96 titles and moved them to their "discount bin". Only PS2 titles in there (and 1 or 2 XBox titles). I went looking through the DS/GBA/GCN/XB titles and it looks like those are picked clean. Didn't see any unmarked $8.96 titles that jumped out at me. They still have Eyetoys (around 6 or 8 of them)... likely only because they aren't in plain sight. They're in between the counter and the PS2 demo unit. i'm sure once they get out there in front of people, they'll go. Only title that really jumped out as a "must have" in that bin was a couple of copies of We Love Katamari.
BB/GameRush.... They've gathered up most of the clearance that was in their regular "new" racks and put them in that islander. LOTS of XBox titles. Still had a few GCN titles cheap (Geist, Killer 7, MP: Echoes, Pikmin, The Incredibles..... no more NBA Street v3 for GCN). They do have the title for the XBox if you have one of those. Some titles are as cheap as $2.50. I picked up SSX On Tour, Mortal Kombat Deception and PGR2 for a total of $13 and change. Also had a small selection of PS2 titles... onesy-twoseys for the most part.
If there is anything you want on that list, let me know and if they have it I can pick it up for you since I know it's a 40 minute drive and in that timespan what you're looking for could be bought.
mj1108
07-01-2006, 09:55 PM
For anyone interested regarding CC and GameRush here in Merced:
CC: They now have the $8.96 stuff out in the open and advertised as such. The PS2/GCN/XB titles are on the rack normally housed by PS2 titles in front of the register. DS titles now occupy the "discount bin". 90% of that bin is Pokemon Dash...they must have at least 40 copies of it. Eye Toys are now stacked on the register counter all marked $8.96. Still, compared to what's on that list it's been basically picked over.
GameRush: Don't bother unless you're looking for XBox titles since 80-90% of the clearance stuff left is XB titles. It's so picked over now that they had to spread out the XB titles thin to make it look like it was full.
mj1108
07-03-2006, 11:02 PM
Best Buy has a few of the marked down titles from the original CAG markdown thread. I picked up Drill Dozer for $9.99 and they had 2 left.
Target on clearance: All games listed are in the game cases
$13.98:
Gran Turismo 3 - PS2
Viewtiful Joe - GCN
Sonic Heroes - GCN
Namco Museum - PS2
$34.98:
Geist - GCN
$20.98
Drill Dozer - GBA
GTA Double Pack - XBox

I haven't heard anything, then again I haven't been asking as of yet. This week I'm going to start asking Target, CC, WalMart and Best Buy what the situation looks like. When I find out from each, I'll post here. My hope is that since the WalMart here closes at midnight that they may stay open for a little bit to do a midnight launch (which would be awesome)....but I dunno
Target here has 3rd party Wii accessories. They've had them for the last 3-4 weeks already. Just controller gloves, stands and such. Meanwhile they also have a playable PS3 unit up and running that can be played. Ironic they get that, WalMart ends up with an unplayable unit with a demo reel and EB/GS have nothing.

Yeah, I'm not interested in a PS3, except for resale. Let us (me, I guess) know what the story is because I'd go to Merced if I knew they'd be organized about getting a Wii.
As far as I know I thought all Walmart's were doing midnight launches? I'll wait until the I see the ad today.

Well...I went out and about on a mission tonight to ask and this is what I found out....all places are here in Merced:
Target -- Guy didn't know, since he said "their Nintendo rep hasn't been in for 3 months". I'll try back tomorrow and ask someone else. He did say the lining up would be handled like they did the 360 -- one line, first come, first serve.
Circuit City -- The guy said they already have 2 Wii's in and I couldn't get him to sell me one..haha... He said he didn't know how many they would get total, but they get shipments all week. When I was there he had a shipping box full of Wii accessories and lo and behold they had the extra Wiimotes and Nunchucks (1ST PARTY STUFF!). I went to buy one of each but their system has it locked out preventing sale before Sunday on the accessories. He even tried to override it too...
Best Buy -- Straight from the horses mouth, they'll have 42 Wii's for Sunday with one single line. First come, first served. Ironically, as of 6pm tonight there is now 1 guy out there camping out for the PS3:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y42/chan925/ps3_campout_bb.jpg
I was at BB around Noon today and he wasn't there then....so he's there as of sometime today.
I went to Gamestop in the mall as well just to see what I could see. They have 3rd party titles now in and selling...Tony Hawk, Rampage, etc.... One guy over there had called up one guy at BB and found out that BB will have 20 of the 60 gig version and 6 of the 20 gig version.
Wal-Mart -- Will ask tomorrow since I used to know the Elect. Dept. Mgr there really well. Haven't talked to her in ages so I don't know if she's still there or not....but I know I can get the dirt from her on it.
mj1108
11-15-2006, 04:46 PM
Just to add real quick since I'm here at work. I went by WalMart on my lunch hour and she was in fact there (the Dept. Mgr referenced above). I asked her how many and she said "a whole bunch" (as if it was going to be A LOT). She said not many have been asking about it and thought I wouldn't have a problem getting one. They open at 6am.

Best Buy in Gilroy already has a line about 20 or so deep, so there's no point going there for a PS3. The guy I asked inside said the line began yesterday (11/14) at about 5pm. How's that for persistence?
42 Wii systems doesn't seem like that many, but it also doesn't seem like a camping out low kind of number either. I think I'll take a gamble and just stay here for both. My girl said she was willing to line up tomorrow for the PS3 after work (7pm-ish) when I get off work, I'll probably send her home and wait it out if we're close enough to the front of the line.

Don't bother coming to Merced to lineup for the PS3.
Best Buy already has at least 20 people. WalMart has at least a half dozen, Target has around 12-15 people and Circuit City has 3-5 people. This was all as of earlier today....so god only knows what the lines look like tonight.
This is absolutely crazy, though. I don't know if these people are just bored, have no jobs or what....

What stores are doing midnight launches there? Despite the fact that the Walmart as said, "midnight launch at your local Walmart" that wasn't true, they claimed only the Super stores were doing such, so the time my girl spent in line was for nothing.
I really want a Wii and I guess I could wait until Sunday, but if I could get one 8 hours earlier I'd be happier.

Turlock (24h WalMart) is doing a midnight launch. I've called them 4 times in the last 2 days to confirm it and just got off the phone with them. They're selling at 12:01am tonight. Nobody in Merced is doing a midnight launch.
I'm going to get my brother in LB and we're heading to Turlock for it. If we don't end up with one, we still have BB, CC, WM, etc...when they open on Sunday morning. Trying to avoid staying up all night or having to wake up really early....

Yup, I did get one but it was an adventure.
Me and my brother went to the WalMart in Turlock around 9pm on Saturday night. Found out that they had 29, but gave vouchers out for all of them earlier that day (was told 1-2pm)...so they were all "spoken for".
So....once we left there I called the WalMart in Merced asking what their situation was like. Was told there was just "a couple of people camping" and that they would have "some". So we thought "ok, let's go". We got in line at WalMart (ended up being around 8th/9th in line). Around 10:30pm a lady tells us, that according to someone she talked to they are only having 8 units and that the Target down the street was getting 42 and there were only 2 campers there. She suggested we all go down there.
So, for our group of campers in front of WalMart, I took off to Target to see what the situation was. I talked to the 2 guys in line and they confirmed what the woman had said and that we were all welcome to come over. I went back and told them what was going on. While I was gone they were told WalMart was going to give them out until Monday (WTF?). So....we all headed over to Target and waited in line at Target. I ended up 4th in line and got mine/my brother 5th. Everyone was really cool....no scalpers it seemed like. Everyone was talking about the games (zelda especially).
Target there actually ended up with 36 and had to turn people away (not sure how many exactly they had to turn away, but they confirmed they had to do some).
We were also told that Best Buy put a note on their door that they only had 24.

Those numbers suck ass. I found out last night that I could've had one if I came back to San Jose, I know a manager at Circuit and he told me they got 35 (which in my opinion is a lot for a Circuit City) that was enough for everyone waiting in line and for anyone who happened to walk in a little later. I totally missed out on calling him because I was so depressed about not getting one.
Worst part is that I was first at Costco and my girl was first at Sears (divide and conquer) and neither place had them.

Hey everyone. Stockton CAG'er here, though I'm currently in LA for school. Finally got my Wii after a long taxi cab ride to various Targets yesterday. I'm now happily playing Zelda, but I'm hoping that when I go back to Stockton I'll be able to snag another wiimote. Anyone know if there's any in stock at the stores around the area? I remember seeing some at Target when I was there over Thanksgiving; too bad I didn't have my Wii yet. :(

Well, I don't live in that area, but my Walmart and Kmart just had them last week possibly left over from launch. I scooped them up and sold them on ebay, but there's a good chance that you'll be able to find them since there was just a restock at Target and the like.
I went to San Jose to get myself a system (actually two) it was a lot of waiting, but after spending just a few hours with Wii sports I can tell it's only going to get better over the course of the system's lifespan.

Nothing really new to update here in Merced....
Target here seems to have the PS3 in-stock pretty steadily over the last 2 weeks (only 60 gigs). Earlier this week I was there and they actually had 8 Wii's in-stock. Went back the next day and they were gone. Must have just gotten them in.
The Target in Turlock had quite a few games on clearance (30-50% off)...don't have a list, unfortunately. Titles were mostly originally $19.99-$29.99 titles they were trying to get rid of. No idea what's left as I was there earlier in the week.

Best Buy has actually been doing some deals as of late here on the weekends. They've either had color stickers = (whatever % off) sales... i.e. pink sticker = 15% off or whatever off of select titles. A couple of weekends ago they had a 50% off table of select titles. I just haven't been on a computer long enough on the weekends to get over here to post the stuff. :( I'll do what I can to make sure I can get the deals posted here from here on out....and hopefully if anyone else here in Merced sees the deals they'll post them here as well if I can't get to it.
But other than that....it's really, really sucked. WalMart has been WalMart, Target hasn't been clearancing any titles... unsure of Gamestop in the mall or Gamestop (which used to be EB) over in the Olivewood Shopping Center. Seems like it's the same ol' crap going on in there. Best Buy seems to be the one to really watch here. I miss TRU. :(
If anyone is looking for a Wii, Target in Merced has had them in-stock on a constant basis for the last week and a half or so. Was there Tuesday evening and saw a dozen.

I just wanted to drop the word that if you are ever in Fresno to stop by Rasputins (which replaced the old Tower Records on Blackstone). I've been finding some used game bargains there & picked up the following:
Ninja Gaiden Sigma $29.95
Flatout Ultimate Carnage (X360) $7.95
I passed on these so they are there for the picking as well:
Magna Carta (2 in stock) $17.95
Bioshock (X360) $19.95 (1)/$24.95 (3)
Skate (1 each for PS3/X360) $24.95
Fatal Frame (PS2) $19.95
Makai Kingdom (PS2) $11.95
Syphon Filter Logan's Shadow (PSP) $19.95
Romance Of The Three Kingdoms IX (PS2) $7.95
There were other rarer PS2 titles like Monster Hunter, Odin Sphere, but I didn't notice the price of these.
Be prepared for see a mass difference in prices in the racks too. The new games are mixed in with the used games. It seemed like licened crap like Harry Potter are priced higher used than these 'niche' titles. Have fun (get rid of them before I'm tempted to go buy all of them....)

They had at least 10 (more like 15) copies of thd full Rock Band for the 360, about 6 when you first go in (near returns, across from McDonalds), with another simnilar size pile in electronics where they normally house clearance items (where you pass from HDTVs/SDTVs to food items).
They also had 2 copies of Command and Conquer 360 going for $19.99 in the bargain bin near the cell phone checkout and Beowulf for the same price (think it is a price drop), as well as Sonic 360, Pirates of Car., Car, All Pro 2k8, and Oblivion (non game of year).

559 here (Fresno of course) but I should have honorary membership for the 209 because i'm driving up 99 & 152 so much...
I d love to get me that bioshock for 20. Rasputins sounds like a medicinal marijuana shop's name. Rasputin was an evil mo fo

The goodwill on march by delta has nothing. Well one ps1 controller.
Also they had 4-5 bag loads of old baseball cards. Well like a medium shopping bag to be exact..if any one is interested. I am going to check the goodwill in town next.

Anyone having luck with those $10 Wii points cards at Walmart? I might be willing to take a trip to Merced for some cheap Wii points & accessories. Not sure if I want to venture to another city that I'd be completely lost in.

Just like it says, there were at least 2 of each, Tabula Rasa was $35 for the Limited Edition, World in Conflict was $30. They also had regular edition Lord of the Rings for $10.00.
All were in the game clearance bin right near the electronics register.

For anyone who's looking, the TRU in Modesto has the 360 VGA cables for $20. They also have the s-video one in a clearance bin but with no price. They also have the Microsoft remote for $15.

Games I noticed: Eragon ($29.99), NHL 2k7 & 2007 ($29.99 each), 2 worlds ($49.99). All games on the table were 30% off (some had stickers, some didn't). There weren't any colors, the sign just said "This table 30% off"
I didn't bite since the games I was remotely interested in are cheaper elsewhere, but I didn't look that hard or ask about some of the other games on clear-out (I was told the letter "c" on a plastic placeholder/label thing means they aren't planning to re-order).
You might want to stop in if you're in the area.

Walmart clearances are always YMMV. The one here in Merced still had them at their regular price when I was there the other day.

Not really a great deal but I'll post it anyway....Best buy in Merced has a table up front this weekend of closeout games with a "buy 1, get one 50% off" deal. Reason I say "not really a deal" is that most of the stuff is garbage with maybe a couple of keepers in there (Pheonix Wright, Rock Band (PS2 - game only), and maybe a couple other titles....

Is there a Hollywood video closing in stockton?
There is a post on CL that they are closing:
Not a joke, many games left, Hollywood Video on Miracle Mile, (Pacific Ave) two blocks north of Harding Ave. is closing the doors at this location for good... We are out of WII games and PS3 games, there are only a few XBOX 360 games left.. But ALL games are only $8.00 plus tax after the 60% discount... We also have a lot of DVD's left for sale, new releases after discount are only $6.00 and our older "Library" movies are only $4.00... My name is Tamara, and I am one of the Managers at this Video Store... This is not a joke, you can call the store at (209)469-9761 if you have any questions :)

redeema: I noticed that when I was over there on Thursday (ran to Lowe's when visiting family). VERY cool! The Super Target in Atwater is due open around that time as well (last I heard).
Only thing to really report here in Merced is Best Buy's clearance mentioned before "Buy 1, get 1 50% off" is actually ongoing. It's no longer on a table. It's actually on a rack to the right when you enter the store (near the closeout TV's). If you didn't look for it, you'd probably miss it. When I was there the other day I noticed they added some DS titles. All this "closeout" stuff is the original price, with the only discount being the 50% off the second game. Obviously stuff isn't moving off that rack. Like I mentioned in the previous post on it, you might find one or two decent titles in there....
Target here has had some 360 and PS3 titles (Orange Box, Simpsons Game, etc...) on clearance for the last couple of weeks. Everytime I've been in there I've forgotten to write prices down (doh!). Last I saw things were at 30-50% depending on the clearance title. (I'll get names next time, promise!)

Walmart had 3 left as of 30 minutes ago. Costco had maybe 30 bundles left, as follow:
1 Wii (with Wiisports remote, nunchuck, etc.)
1 copy WiiPlay (w/extra remote)
1 extra nunchuck
1 Super Mario Galaxy
for $349 (essentially getting a $20 nunchuck for free).
Hope this helps anyone still looking. To be honest I play my 360 WAY more, but I know some are still looking.

Best Buy in Merced must have realized how crappy their offer was on their "clearance" titles... so they changed it. It's now "30% off one title" and "Buy 1, get 1 50% off".
ch3zy: The deals have been few and far between for awhile, unfortunately... Atwater is getting a Super Target which should be open in the next couple months...so it'll be one more place to hit.

The Radioshack in Turlock (Fulkerth near HWY99-Walmart Parking lot) had a few games on clearance. They had CoD4 and Halo 3 for $39.99 each (not bad), PGR4 & Madden 08 for $20, and Tony Hawk Proving Ground for $15. I didn't bite, so they are probably still there. I think you can get CoD4 and Halo 3 at better prices if you look, but was surprised at the other prices. I'll have to drop by again later.

Just got back, they're now 60% off, they have 2 carts up between the checkout registers. it is from the prices on the card, not necessarily on the box.
Between my cousin, son and I we picked up (for 360) Flatout UC, The Darkness, Stuntman Ignition for $8, Lost VD (LOL) and Dark Messiah for $12. Lost was marked 39.99 on box, 29.99 on card.
It needed a managers override and they mentioned that they have only 2 managers on shift this week (???!!), but they honored the 60% off. They had a wide variety of Wii, PC, XBox, PS2, and PS3 games. Heavy into sports games, lots of crap titles suitable for achievement wh lovers like myself. I noticed DOA Xtreme 2 for $12, Simpsons game same price, CoD3 w/Rambo for $12, and a few others I reluctantly put back. Almost bit on Eragon for $12, but decided to wait. All prices quoted are 360.
I'm probably going to head back once I figure out if I should wait for the alleged $10 RZ cert that may or may not come this week (see game deals forum).
Good luck, and happy hunting!

I know I'm insanely late to reply to this....but that sounds like the stuff that was up in the racks that they were trying to get rid of for the longest time as "buy 1, get 1 50% off" that just sat there...and sat there...and sat there. Not so much because of the titles that were in it (there was a couple good ones) but because it was a crappy "deal". Most of the sports games, if I recall correctly were old stuff....
I'm guessing by now most, if not all of it's gone as parents will pick up the cheapest crap titles for their kids just because it's "on sale".
On another note for those interested, Target in Los Banos and Super Target in Atwater are opening up the same day: July 27th.

Was at the BB in Fresno on Blackstone this afternoon (about 4:30) and one worker brought out 3 sealed cases of WiiFit. He opened up one and put them out for sale....then put the other 2 cases under the tableclothed table that the Wii's were on.
No telling if they sold them all before closing, how many are left now or what....

Just got back from TRU in Modesto. I stopped in to see what clearance stuff they had. Picked up Zack and Wiki for the Wii for $7.98 + tax ($8.57). They have 7 of them left. They are NOT in with the clearance stuff (they're with the regular Wii titles) and they are marked $19.99 but ring up $9.98 with an additional 20% off the clearance price which brought it to $7.98 (hence, why they're still there, obviously).

Heads up on a couple of things... not really big deals but I'm throwing these out there:
Target here in Merced has the PS2 version of Guitar Hero 3 on a temporary price cut to $69.99 through August 4th. (Reg $89.99)
Best Buy (also here in Merced) has 2 small "back to back' carts of games on clearance. All titles are 40% off (60% off if they have a black dot on the price tag). These carts are located near the video game section in between the games and cameras. As for what's on those carts: lots and lots and lots of sports titles from the last couple years that they still have. In fact, sports titles are probably 90% of the carts. There's a few PC titles in there as well... but nothing worth making the trip for.
At the rate they're going trying to get rid of those sports titles, I'm sure they'll start paying people to take them soon enough. :)
Radio Shack in the mall has only one title on clearance that I could see -- Madden 2008 for the PS2 for $4.99. No other titles were on clearance.
I also scored a Wii Fit (for my mom) this morning at Target. I thought they'd go quick. I went back to Target about noon and they still have 5 or 6 left along with at least 4 Wii's I could see. They had received about 30 of them (Wii Fit) I was told this morning.
