I'm a big fan of the Final Fight series and looking forward to this massive change to the series (that alot of people can't seem to accept). Discuss and and geat a good beatdown.
Alot of returning characters to be seen: Everyone favorite mayor Hagger, Guy, Cody, and random enemies (here's hoping for Rolento!). The original Final Fight arcade game is also unlockable.

If it's a 4/5 then that's not that bad of a score. I would pick this up now but there are too many other games that I want before this one (Fight Night Round 3, BLACK, And1 Basketball, MGS3 Subsistence LE etc.) so I'll probably wait until it hits the $20 mark.

GI rates out of 10, though I could care less about their opinion. This game was so much fun when I got to try it out.
PSM gave it a 4 also. They complained about the bad language. I know they will make this game more "gangster" but I still hope they wont completely ruin it.

I got money that says this will be high on TEH SUX factor.

Blah! They totally dropped the ball on this game. They could have made a 3D Final Fight game, which is what people seem to want, instead they made another lousy 'Urban' themed beatemup. We already have Urban Reign, and Beatdown, and Warriors... Instead of Andore Jr. and all the other whacky Final Fight guys updated to 3D, we get another generic, hip hop, urban shit brawler...

whoa! how come I have never heard of this game before? I used to love the final fight on the Snes. Definitely need to check this one out.

i just don't have any hope for 3d beat em ups, no matter what franchise it's from.

You should play The Warriors.

okay, that game was a step in the right direction, but if it weren't for the story, I wouldn't have made it as far as I did in it. the controls were still kinda clunky.

i just think they need to make a good sidescrolling 3d beat-em-up... we have enough good traditional 3d beat-em-ups so we dont need too much more.
prob the best beat-em-ups atm are Urban Reign and Ryu Ga Gotadomthing... (cant remember the name...)

yeah, just like with fighters, we need some good hi-res 2-d side-scrollers :) (GG Boost doesn't count.)

Ryu Ga Gotoku, I'd get it right now if it weren't so dependant on reading. I know it's a A quality title, possibly the best beat em up in years, but I can't play it without being able to understand anything. Ha, I've got a jpn PS2, but I don't have the patience to FAQ my way through a game, especially a 60$ one!
Streetwise doesn't look too good, but if it's better then Spikeout, then it will be a great title to me. At least it's retailing for 40 bucks, good move. I could really do without the urban theme, but ah well. It's got Cody and the gang, good enough for me.

.
According to Hardcore Gamer Magazine, it just got approved for a US release, so it should be coming to the US in a few months.
Gamespot also mentions Sega has filed a patent for the name Yakuza, and Ryu Ga Gotoku is the only game in their lineup that would match that name.

Story? Oh, you mean that thing that was attached to warriors that I didn't pay one bit of attention to. I played through the entire game as though it had no story and still thought it as an enjoyable game, well worth $20 (or below).
Warriors proved that 3-D brawlers can be done, even in this day and age. So StreetWise has no excuse to be as shitty as GI and PSM make it out to be.
Liquor Store? PORN THEATER? c'mon now....

For a hot minute, I was contemplating purchase regardless of quality for Final Fight.
But then I realized that it was on the Capcom Classics Collection.
