Worth it? I have Pikmin 2 already. Besides the time constraint, is the first game different in any substantial way? Are the environments different at least (not counting P2's underworld "dungeons").

Go for it, or at least rent it. I preferred One to Two, just didnt care for the underground parts in Two at all.

Get it. It is more enjoyable than 2. 2 seemed like more of a game, than an experience if that makes sense.

The world in Pikmin 1 is different from Pikmin 2. Also, first game has 3 types of Pikmins: Red, Yellow, and Blue instead of 5 types in Pikmin 2. And also first one has just Captain Olmar. No Louie. So there is more limit on how much you can multitask in Pikmin 1.

I finished Pikmin 1 and is still playing Pikmin 2. I like both games. So I think if you like Pikmin 2, you should get Pikmin 1 because it'll be just as fun. Controls is almost the same, so you won't have to do much adjusting to start playing it since you already played Pikmin 2.

If you like Pikmin 2 no reason not to get it. Pikmin 2 does have more features, but the original is still a great game, especially if you know you already will enjoy it. Definitely go for it.

Definitely get Pikmin 1 if you can find it! As the only new IP from Nintendo this generation, it's been a real treat. (still debating on whether or not to consider Chibi-Robo a Nintendo IP since it's developed by Skip...)

The ONLY problem with Pikmin was that damn 30 day limit... it's kinda limiting since you can't explore the world as freely as you want to.

Yeah, that does worry me a bit, and is the reason why I bought P2 first. Had no intention of buying the original at the time, but I was looking at my collection and noticed the many sequals that were nearly identical to their predecessors (MP2: Echoes, We Love Katamari). I bought those anyway, figured I may as well own both Pikmin games.

I've played a bit of P2. The game oozes charm, which I like, and the gameplay is great, but I have to admit that the underworlds (what little I saw anyway) were less compelling than the overworld. Being that the original takes place completely aboveground (correct?) I'm thinking that I might enjoy it even more, time limit notwithstanding. I'll probably pick it up.
