okay so im only about 3 hours into the game and im already loving it. i read reviews saying the random battle encounters are too high, the story isn't involved too well, and the game is short.

well i obviously don't know the answer to the last question yet. but from what i've played through so far... i have no idea what people are talking about when they say the random encounters are too high. they're normal and perfect. not too little and not to many.

the story seems dead on with the game. i mean they don't have a 15 minute cutscene every time there is a boss battle but that's what i like about it. i get to play a game and not a movie (xenosaga was still cool though). i get the story, im getting involved with my characters, and i know what im suppossed to do.

i just wanted to say that this is the first rpg i've really gotten into, from the moment i picked it up, since final fantasy x.

the mantra system is pretty cool as well.

EDIT: my only complaint is the soundtrack. it's not that the music is bad. it just seems like the wrong song is placed at the wrong time in the game. what i mean is it'll be a sadder part in the game and you'll hear some happy guitar riffs and solos. they sound cool... but kills the mood.

im very impressed by this game. im glad i have finally got to play it.

a question

- what was most of your guys game completion time?

Got to the end at around the 30 hour mark, in both games. DDS1 though, I think I played for an extra 30 hours afterwards.

I think I beat it around 35-38 hours. I had to level a bit at the end, didn't do any sidequest/ultimate whatever. It's a hell of a game, and I love the soundtrack, It's refreshing to have rock songs throughout. DDS2's battle theme...

I've only played part 2 but I loved that cutscene early on where Roland explained what exactly the Junkyard was. I'm currently just starting the final dungeon but I've gotten sidetracked by DMC3. Hopefully I can get back to this soon. I'll really like to know how it ends.

Threads like this don't make it any easier for me to wait for this game... still trying to find a new copy.

get ready to slam your control when you fight hoshisima(aka the main char of shin megami nocturne) the ultimate boss for digital saga.If you equip any stats prevent mantra he does gaia attack which does max damage. The whole fight is based on luck.

The lower the luck the higher chance of you defeat him.Every like 10-13 turn he does a ultimate move that does insane damage. In order to avoid it you need a skill that avoid attacks when you chars are sleeping. You need the low luck to increase enemy sucess rate of cast sleep on your party members.

The game is not that bad,but you need to fight a lot of enemies to get all your manta skills max.The secret one cost so much money.

Hitoshura. Though he's not actually called that in the NA version. Plus he's optional so not everyone is going to have to break a controller.

I don't have time to play it again on hard to get the ultimate boss. =( Hell, I still haven't beaten Nemesis in FFX! I'm making my way through DDS2 on hard now thanks to my old clear info. I'm having troubles with the demon that is the three in one guy. His first form is cake, but the second form nails my weaknesses every round. He also eats the main person I was going to use on his next form. :wall: I got his life to red while I was at full life, but then he criticalled on a mad rush and axed one guy and then criticalled on a body blow and killed the other guy. I was pissed and haven't picked it up again. However, for the elemental form, the focus is surviving. Cast two of the three voids: Fire, elec, force, and hope she hits with one you block and don't take too much damage. Every form lasts for 3 rounds.
