Perhaps inspired by the recent news that the Nintendo DS would get Opera, Nintendo Gal gave NOA a call to inquire about possible web functionality for the Revolution. Apparently, the answer is affirmative:

I decided to call NOA up and ask about browsing the web with the Revolution as it just seemed a logical step. Sure enough a helpful individual answered back: "Revolution owners will have the option to purchase that functionality."

An interesting answer, to be sure. We'll see what comes of it in the months leading up to Revolution's eventual release this year.

i find it very interesting, not sure how useful it will be but interesting none the less

I kinda like the way Nintendo is going with this (Rev and DS). I don't have to pay more for a Revolution since it includes web browsing functionality I don't think I would use. But if I decide that I want web browsing functionality, I can go out and pay for it.

I wonder if the web browser will be unique enough to allow for mouse scrolling using the Revolution controller. That'd be kind of cool.

interesting, but def. not something i would spend more than $1 or $2 on since i already have a desktop, laptop, psp, and will be getting a macbook pro shortly that can all use the internet....plus, if im paying $200 or so for the damn console, i dont want to pay for some functionality that i would hardly if ever use, unless, as was stated about, the controller proved to be amazing.....but, without a keyboard, the internet is pointless.....
